I'm a big guy (euphemism for "fat", really). The previous chair had plastic legs and one of the legs broke. After some looking around, I settled on this chair. The chair, when it came, was quite sturdy - the legs are steel, not plastic. Putting it together was of medium difficulty - it's not complicated - just attaching the wheels, and then using the provided Allen wrench to screw in the various screws. What made it hard was the weight of the parts. Assembling it on the living room floor was tough when we had to hold the various parts in odd positions to get the screws in. A few of the screws and holes were close fit, but everything came together, and I'm very pleased with the result. This chair has become a favorite of everyone in the household. I've only had it a month, but so far, so great. The instructions tell you to check the screws after a few weeks, and I want to echo that you need to do it. I had tightened everything down, but when I checked it after a few weeks, many of the screws could be tightened more. This chair feels really solid and is comfortable.
This chair is great - I'm short but heavy and my husband is tall and heavy. We can adjust the chair to fit either one of us. It is very sturdy with a metal base, not plastic. You can adjust the seat height 6' inches or more and the tilt adjustment allows you to get your correct back support. I would recommend this chair to everyone!
I've had a number of office chairs. One of the chairs I had recently was a fake leather chair. The material cracked and split and was being tracked all over my home. That was a factor in deciding to check out a "mesh" chair. This is a well-made chair. Everything seems reinforced and sturdy. The cushioning is exceptional. Some of the information in the description of the chair was confusing to me. I recall seeing the word "microfiber" somewhere. There is nothing microfiber about this chair. The mesh is a waffle-weave type vaguely scratchy material. The plus of this is that I don't think it's prone to tear or fray. I don't think it will look "worn" as some materials tend to do after months or years. The con side of this is that the material is somewhere on the "slightly unpleasant" texture spectrum. I view this chair as functional and durable, not supremely comfortable and plush. The welding looks nice and sturdy. This is a HEAVY chair. The most challenging part of the assembly was getting the back attached to the seat. I used the arm of my couch to support the seat while I maneuvered the back of the chair into place. Do note: The back of the chair attaches OVER TOP of the pneumatic lift portion of the chair. I kept trying to slide it in between the bottom of the seat and the metal of the part that attaches to the lift. The screws ARE long enough to secure the back of the chair to the seat over TOP of the metal base under the seat. I'd also managed to put an arm on backwards because I was thinking of my left/right as I was facing the chair, NOT my left/right as they would be if I were sitting in the SEAT of the chair. Also, I kept looking for the base cap, because in the instructions, it appeared to be a separate part. Mine, however was ALREADY snapped onto the base of the chair. I had even called the company to say I thought I was missing a part. To the company's credit, they were going to send me the missing part without any hassle at all and at no charge! I managed assembly on my own without terrible difficulty. Having a second person to help would have made securing the back of the chair to the seat more manageable, but all's well. I'm satisfied with the product and would recommend it to others who are focused mainly on purchasing a durable/functional chair.
The chair seat and back are OK but the casters did not work at all properly. Even after oiling an greasing they do not rotate easily making it hard to roll the chair. The chair is on hard tile and it should work properly. If it was not so difficult to take apart and rebox, i would send it back. I feel cheated.

Im a 60 yr old retired female and I unpacked, assembled, and adjusted this chair in about an hour, while also watching a tv news conference. : ) Im a plus-sized person so I wanted a chair with good support and adjustments that would last more than 2 years in my home (non-business) office. Overall initially, Im very pleased with this purchase. Pros: Arrived w/in 5 bus days Instructions provided for assembly are straight-forward Limited warranty is printed on the back of the instructions Screws and Allen wrench all thats needed - included, with 4 extra screws Seat and back are very comfortable for a larger person Price is very reasonable for the product Cons: A little heavier than expected (compared to my prior chair, of similar design) The tilt knob is tight when you first turn it to decrease the tilt tension, but does get easier as you turn it further. The screws fit the metal seat plate holes rather tightly at first, so you may want to screw them in slightly before trying to attach to the bottom of the seat, to make them easier to fit and turn in the pre-drilled holes. If you have an extra pair of hands assisting you, the Cons should not be a concern for you. Impatient me, I put it together myself and used the club chair in my office to help support the chair seat when needed for attaching the arms and back. As it was a little heavier than I expected, I simply leaned the chair back against the club chair to support the majority of its weight in order to place it on the base. I was then able to very easily maneuver it onto the pneumatic cylinder on the chair base for the final assembly step. LIMITED WARRANTY - typical warranty for this type of product. I do wish the online product descriptions would include this type of info on all of their office chairs: warranties are limited to original purchaser for normal commercial usage normal commercial usage is defined as a standard 40-hour work week by persons weighing 350 lbs or less Over-usage considerably reduces the warranty to 2-yrs on all parts, with fabric and foam to 1 yr. Obviously, youd need to read the warranty specifically provided with the product you purchase but the above info should give you an idea as to what the manufacturer considers standard usage for this chair. At this point, Im happy with my purchase; only time will tell how long it will last. (Based on the warranty, it may be longer than I first expected.)
