There are a lot of complaints with these chairs regarding the screw holes not lining up. When assembling a given part such as the adding the lifting mechanism to the underneath of the chair, loosely place all the screws in their holes then barely tighten them then adjust the parts so they all can be screwed in. Some holes appeared to be way off, but I was able to put the screws in via this method. You can assemble this chair in about 30 min, maybe less. It's a beautiful chair with a great finish so it's worth the time.

Wow! These chairs are perfect! I ordered two for my twin 12 years olds. I put them together in about 30 minutes per chair. Super easy to assemble, if you READ the directions as you go. (I skipped a step and had to go back) The finish on these chairs is really nice. My girls desks are an antique white finish from a very popular company that has a "teen" line of furniture. The chairs look like they were made for the desks. They look way more expensive then they were. After spending so much $$ for the desks, it was so nice to find such a bargin.

My husband has been a carpenter for over 15yrs and even he was impressed with how the chair was put together. Its actually real wood not that fake stuff most furniture is made from these days. I put the chair together in about 20 min it was fairly easy. Both my husband and I have back problems and found the chair to be equally comfortable as it is stylish.

I have had several of these chairs for three years. They are durable, attractive and comfortable. For the money they are a good value.

Such a good buy! I decided to get this chair even though some other reviewers had problems assembling it. My chair (antique white) arrived in perfect condition (no chips, scrapes, etc.) and with all the necessary parts. I was able to put it together very easily in 30 minutes. I did, admittedly, have a hard time getting one of the casters into the base of the chair. It took a rubber mallet and a little oomph to get it in place. Not optimal, but not such of a much either. The chair is a good looking piece of furniture for the price. The antique white is a soft creamy white with a tiny bit of yellow in there. Lovely!

I was loking for a desk chair for my daughter for a long time. Finally decided to order this chair from Overstock and I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase. Great quality, durable (solid wood), the seat is hard but I added a pad to the chair. It seems that will last many years. My husband put it together in 10 min or less.

The instructions were not adequate - you need to use your imagination a little.

Fairly good assembly instructions & had all the parts. Had the first 4 steps done in 10 minutes until I came to the wheels. The directions don't mention how to put the wheels onto the 5 prong base. After 15 minutes of studying them, I decided they just needed a good bang to force the tension washers down and it worked. The hardest part was forcing the little plastic decorative caps into the holes to cover the screws on the back of the seat and side braces. The holes were not perfectly round and I had to whack them into place with a rubber mallet which caused a few black smudges. I had it together in less than 30 minutes and, overall, it's a nice solid chair and I'm happy with it. (The seat is hard, though, so you'll need a good cushion!)

very happy with the chair. It look like furniture yet works at the desk in my kitchen without looking to officey (if that's a word). Not sure if the chair leans slight, or its the slab (foundation) but its super cute and I love it.

Practical piece for the office. Easy & quick assembly by one person with minimal instrumentation. Has held up over the course of two years. Great deal for the price.

Handsome chair. Excellent craftsmanship. We wanted to purchase another one, but it was no longer available.

I ordered the antique white chair, it was a bit more yellowish that I had hoped for. It did however look exactly like it did on the website. The chair is comfortable and sturdy. For the price, I was amazed to see it is make of solid wood! I am extremely please with my purcase!

This chair is a wonderful addition and blends itself with other furniture beautifully. I assembled it by myself so it's not hard to do. Took exactly two hours. Good directions and easy to follow. Chair looks lovely and is quite comfortable. A good purchase and shipping was very fast.

The seat came with a crack down the center but it was easily replaced and has been great. I have had this chair for over a year. I use it in my sewing room so it gets plenty of use. It's heavy and rolls perfectly. It is not a bright white more of an off white or light ivory. I looked around and read many reviews and this one was the best by far.

Overall the chair was easy to assemble but the wheels were difficult to insert into the base. The holes did not seem large enough and I had to force them in. Also, the caps ( or plugs) for the screwholes are too large for the holes and I left them out alltogether because forceng them in would not allow me to remove them later to tighten any screws. Otherwise, nice chair, good quality.

Overall, really like the chair. It rolls easily and has not marred my oak floor. Used as a desk chair and, with a cushion on seat, as extra seating in family room.
