Does what I need
I am upgrading my home LAN to 1000BaseT. Some of the existing wiring would work correctly for the slower speed networks, 10BaseT and 100BaseT, but all conductors must be connected correctly to do the fast speed. This tester checks that all wires are connected correctly and identify any broken or miswired ones. Once the wiring is all verified by this meter, you can connect your computer to verify that it can go to the fast speed. It includes accessories to test phone lines and cable TV wiring. It also includes the basic functionality for testing house power wiring and computer power supplies. It replaces my ancient analog meter.
