when i first decided i wanted a proper mount for my monitors, i imagined something something similar to this. i was building a custom computer desk and found this. it works absolutely great while clamped onto a regular tabletop, dont get me wrong. but i adjusted my desk to support the clamp from under the tabletop and poke up through a hole. this was a fairly cheap mount compared to most, but its simplicity was perfect for what i was looking for. you'll get a tighten/loosen bolt on each joint to be able to lock angles if needed, or to leave them to swing. i cant really think of anything else i would really need in a mount, i dont think i would look for something else if i needed another mount.

  • Check you desk before ordering

    This is a very handy desk mount. But I failed to check the size of the lip on my desk and when I tired to install it I found the lip of the desk was too small to allow proper installation. But instead of returning the item I simply modified the installation by mounting it on the corner of my L-shaped desk but not on the lip. Instead I simply drilled a slot wide enough for the mount to slide down thru and then installed the other part of the mount's installation parts from underneath the desk. It now works fine. The only problem I see is that the monitors I am using [HPw2207h - 23"] are heavier than expected (19.8 lbs each). The weight of them causes the outer 2 arms to flex slightly so the two outside monitors will NOT mount level at the same height of the center one. They are slightly tiled on the outside edges respectfully creating a curved appearance downward to the tops of the monitors. To get passed this I simply lowered the outer monitors slightly (@ 1") then leveled the tops of each monitor. I would have preferred all of them to be level at the same height but only purchasing newer and lighter monitors will make that possible. If you have monitors much lighter (maybe 15 lbs or less) you should not have a problem like I did.
