I bought this shelf to hold textbooks and other books. It fits perfectly between the wall and the window sills, which is a tight spot! It is currently holding at least 15 textbooks on the bottom 3 shelves. It works great for this purpose however I could imagine small items or any decorative item you wanted to display wouldn't stay up or be safe on these shelves. I would buy this again. My bf likes the looks of it a lot more than I do, he thinks it looks modern. I just really like the fit and function.
