  • Not my smartest purchase

    Only feed one sheet at a one or it will stall out. Sheets must first be torn into thirds to fit. If I had it to do over, I would not purchase

  • Underpowered but adequate

    It has a connector to power the unit from a 6vdc power adaptor. It is not known what the rating should be for the power adaptor.

    • How accurate was the sizing? It does shread paper. It shreads one 4 inch width piece easily; it has some trouble with two pieces 4 inches wide.
    • Please tell us about the quality of the product. It is OK except the cover on the battery compartment comes off sometimes.
    • Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? The battery door coming off may be a defect.
    • Would you recommend this to a friend? No

The input and output of adaptors are usually rated, e.g., 10-240 vac, 22W input and 6vdc, 500mA output. It must use a 6 vdc adaptor since the 4 AA batteries provide 6vdc. If the rated output of an adaptor is lower than what the shredder draws it could get too hot. The manufacturer must know what the shredder draws. searod on Nov 21, 2012

This unit requires 4 AA batteries (not included) or plug in via power adapter (not included). Nothing on the box or on the units states what power rating the adaptor should have. overstockcustomercare1 on Nov 21, 2012
