Mayline Aberdeen Laminate Conference Lectern

My wife is a teacher and had "Podium Envy" for the other English teachers that had lecterns. I thought for the price, this should be a seriously high quality piece of furniture and the center of her Christmas gifts. Shipping was fine although used a trucking company because the weight is listed above 100 lbs (actually 75 or so) so a bit inconvenient that I had to meet an 18 wheeler in my culdesac to get delivery. Assembly was pretty easy (pin and cam style). Seemed to go together pretty tight but not quite tight enough...passable. Christmas morning she loved it (it is a good looking piece of furniture...the issue came during transportation. During the 5 minutes between VERY gently unloading this item and rolling it (across carpet) to my wife's classroom, two casters had lost their seat within the mount (floppy posts) and with a gentler turn to put it in place the trip on the from of the book holder peeled up 8 inches of the length of the front. Going to replace the casters at Home Depot, re-glue the trim and any other that doesn't look solid and run a bead of glue on EVERY corner so this thing lasts awhile. I would not recommend purchasing.

• Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? Depends....poorly quality components so two of four casters failed upon first move and trim in front popped up after first use...defects...none that showed but certaily came up quickly (first use)
