Wonderful cabinet for files, I do wish the file guides could be more permanently attached inside.

The cabinet is really heavy - just under 200 pounds. The drawers do not release to remove. We had to unscrew them and the top to get it to a manageable weight for two men. The back panel is filled with what sounds like shot to provide stability when the drawers are open. I see no evidence that it's lined with stone or fireproof. It looks good and is functional. The side panels are gunmetal gray. Files can be set up either laterally or front to back.

• Please tell us about the quality of the product. The quality of the cabinet was outstanding. It was VERY HEAVY; it was slate lined, making it fire proof. The wood exterior is beautiful. Anyone buying this should be aware of the weightof this cabinet because it was delivered by a freight company and the weight was listed as 233 pounds. In spite of the weight, I am very pleased with the cabinet. It is a nice looking piece of furniture and I would purchase it again.

This file cabinet is a much higher quality item than ones that cost a lot more. Very attractive, solid, and the drawers slide smoothly. I am very happy with my purchase. The only negative is that it's a tank! It's heavy, bulky and not easy to move, but they're all pretty much that way if you want anything of good quality.

The cabinet is high quality. Drawers slide out smoothly, and the locking mechanism works well. The cabinet is extremely heavy; make sure you have two (maybe three) really strong people to move it, especially if you need to move it upstairs like I did! The color was well represented on the picture on the website, definitely maple.
