I am a high school student and I have a 15 inch notebook PC that I did most if not all of my typing on. I wrote all of my projects and essays while seated on my bed with my computer on my lap. This worked well for about ten minutes before the computer became hot as a firecracker! I knew there had to be some sort of product out there that could help me with this but all I found were laptop stands with built in fans that were made out of metal or wood. Then I came across the lap mat. This is one of those "why didn't I think of that products." It has a leather like top that holds the lap top very well, and the best part is the soft padding that rests on your legs. No more dead leg. I love this product! There is even a little room for a mouse. Not much but you can make use of it! Overall this is a sweet product and is well worth the price.

I bought this so I could use my laptop on my lap without burning up. There was no difference in thermal conductivity. In other words, don't buy this if you expect to stay cool.

I saw a similar lap desk at Hampton Inn which sells for $79.00. I really didn't want to pay that much for a lap desk, so i looked around. I searched other stores but the lap desk looked to flimsy for the price. I am glad I searched at overstock.com. I recieved the desk and it is sturdy and look more expensive. The price is great and I am very satisfied.

I found this product much more comfortable than a pillow I previously used.

The top was as described but the filling which makes it soft is crappy, cheap and just doesnt cut it. I should have spent 10 bucks extra and bought the *** one.

Perfect for using laptop on lap comfortable and gives cooling fans plenty of air. Looked at many pads and this is just what I had in mind and found it.

going on a long car trip and needed a laptop table for the trip- checked alot of different styles and ordered several others- but this one was the best! large enough to use the wireless mouse the bean bag packing makes it very comfortable on your lap for long periods of time- did a trail run in the car and it worked out great the curve in the board is a great feature to it fits snug to your waist. I used it while sitting on the couch again worked out great the material that the table is coverd in is a plastic of some sort and it keep the laptop and mouse for sliding. If you need a laptop table- this is the one to get not need to look any further and oh yea the price was great from Overstock and of course the shipping and turn around time too.

I work on a computer for 10hrs a day, and currently don't have a desk, so I needed a substitute that wouldn't break my bank. This is a sturdy, surface that actually feels nice, and doesn't hurt after a day of working on it. A different material for the micro-bead pillow other than Styrofoam would be nice. The beads coupled with the 100% polyester pillow does make for a warm situation, but it isn't the same heat you get from having a computer right on your lap. The pillow itself has a nice brushed Nubuck feel. What I don't get is why the product description says: "Mat features a soft leatherette finish and removable micro-bead pillow" My pillow is NOT removable. It is clearly factory sewn to the leatherette table. Is this different in others? There's also the weird glue-sticky edges which is typical of this sort of overstock product. It cost about $25 bucks, and it's worth about $20-$25 bucks.

My laptop lap mat was a perfect purchase. It keeps my laptop from burning or making my lap hot while I am using it. Also, it is very comfortable with the cushion on the bottom of it. It was a good purchase for me!

I was so surprised when I received this product I was also impressed with the look and feel of the product. I ordered the product and within 2 days my product was delivered and as I am typing this review I am using my Laptop Lap Mat, my sister thought I was crazy, but when she used it she was so surprised she said her laptop did not slide off at all, and when she was at the coffee shop people was asking her where did she purchase that? She was so happy, she wants me to order her one. I like the way my laptop stays in place as i type or shop. I can go on and on but I want , all i can say and tell you to purchase one and you will see. Thanks.

It works just fine for keeping the laptop from getting too hot while sitting on my lap. Could be a little larger.

I am very happy with my laptop mat. I need it to use while sitting in my lounge chair and it is just the right size. I feel like Goldilocks. : ) The cushion lifts my work to the right height and the surface does not allow anything to slide. I am pleased with my purchase.

This laptop mat keeps your legs cool and your laptop in place, comfortable and works great.

This laptop mat places the computer at a comfortable typing heighth, but not quite enough "stuffing" to keep board from pressing against your knees.

I bought this for my sister for her christmas gift and she absolutely loves it. She uses it daily with her laptop will watching TV and her lap never gets warm. Well worth the money and fabulous!! Anyone thinking about this should buy it!

This product is not what I expected. The "Desk" is thin, and not very thick/sturdy. I purchased this product hoping it would prevent me from having to use a pillow to support my laptop and keep the heat of my legs. Now I have to use both a pillow AND the laptop desk. This product does nothing to prevent the laptop heat from coming through. Not worth the money.

This works very well and is large enough for a 17 inch laptop. It sits well on your lap and can be used for many things. Works great for eating on, working on... writing on... just an all around cool item. I am glad I have it. I recommend it for anyone that needs something secure for your lap. I believe it would work great for elderly people. It should be in with medical needs too. Just my own thinking...

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He loves it. His legs are not burning anymore when he uses his laptop. Great quality for the great price. We all enjoy it.

It's good, but not great. A little tipsy with the laptop on it. Have not tried it in the car..
