Having lifted our new credenza into our offices I can only confirm that this credenza is Heavy. It definately takes 2 people to lift it. It's very well made and everyting on it seems to be made to last a few generations. Having said that it's really nice looking and our office looks great with this new addition. The 2 file drawers are wide and takes a lot of paper and I like that they lock. The 2 door cabinets each have an adjustable shelf.Read More

How to Season a Wooden Salad Bowl
Wood salad bowls need to be seasoned to prevent drying and cracking. This is particularly important for serving bowls that are unfinished. If your bowl is properly cared for and cleaned, the seasoned flavor and fragrance of garlic and herbs will be preserved. Proper maintenance will result in a well-seasoned serving bowl, which will become more aromatic with age.
How to Remove Scratches from a Wooden Table
Scratches on wooden dining tables not only present an unsightly appearance; they leave the wood unprotected and open to staining and moisture. Scratches can be slight or deep, and removing each type requires a different method of repair. The finish of your wooden table also plays a part in how to remove the scratches, especially if the scratch is deep.
How to Care for Wooden Spoons
Wood has long been used for eating utensils, serving utensils and preparation tools. Wooden spoons are a cooking essential and also a beautiful addition to your kitchen and dining experience. On the practical side, these lightweight yet strong utensils are great for tossing salads and serving everything from mashed potatoes to green beans. Wooden spoons are also the perfect preparation tools for use with nonstick pans. Cleaning and general care of wooden spoons differs, however, from the cleaning and care of metal utensils. Wood expands in water, so soaking the spoons in dishwater is generally not advised. Aside from a few basic rules of care, however, it is not difficult to keep wooden spoons looking like new.

Wooden spoons offer many benefits when used as preparation tools when cooking and baking. Best End Tables for Each Room
Although the most popular room for end tables is undoubtedly the living room, you can place these tables in nearly every room in your home. When considering how to fit end tables in the rooms of your home, consider the room decor and whether or not the style of the end table matches your own. Even more basic than the style of end table is its shape, so consider how it will fit into your room. End tables can be square, rectangular, round or oval. Some end tables even nest together. One shape of end table might look best next to a recliner, while another might be perfect next to a sectional sofa. Look carefully at the room in which you will be placing the end tables. Is dark wood or light wood prevalent? Is it a small room or large room? Will the table sit in a corner, against a wall or in the middle of the room? As you can see, end tables are quite flexible. Here are some tips on placing end tables in your home.
How to Store Your Guitars
When you invest in a guitar, you want to make sure it lasts as long as possible and keeps producing a great sound. Since most guitars are made from wood, they require mild conditions to keep them from warping or cracking. The type of climate you live in can be a big factor in determining how you store your guitar. For dry areas, storing your guitar in a case with a humidifier is your best choice. If you live in a humid climate, try keeping your guitar on a wall hook since that will give it a chance to air out. Here are a few more tips and guitar storage ideas.
How to Choose a Wood Lathe
Wood lathes are simple machines that allow you to make beautifully symmetrical woodwork. Wood lathes consist of an electric motor, two points, called the "headstock" and the "tailstock," and a chisel or gouge. As the motor turns the piece of wood secured between the headstock and the tailstock, the chisel carves. With a wood lathe in your collection of power tools, you'll be able to make a wide variety of items, including wooden pens, table legs, banisters and even wooden salad bowls. Although lathes are fairly simplistic tools, finding the right lathe for you can take some time and research.

To choose a good jewelry case, wooden box, jewelry stand or keepsake box, consider the construction, materials and design of the case or box. This jewelry box buying guide is designed to help you sort through the options and make a more informed buying decision.

Many are beautiful furniture accessories made of oak, rosewood and other fine woods and inlaid with mahogany or mother of pearl. Others have the classic travel-case design, with a carrying handle and leather or fabric exteriors. Use this guide to choose a jewelry box for your collection.

Protect your wood patio furniture and save yourself money in the long run by taking just a few extra steps each season.
