This is the BEST electric pencil sharpener I have ever bought! As a 2nd grade teacher I sharpen hundreds of pencils every week. This sharpener is very fast. It costs more than the average sharpener but I won't be buying a new one every few month due to the cheaper ones wearing out all the time. Don't be surprised if all the teachers in my school order one from Overstock.com!

This sharpener is a great addition to the office. I teach 2 children at home so we can go through a lot of pencils and this sharpener does it's duty.

I had this in my classroom for one month and it stopped working. I was the only person sharpening pencils so I can't blame it on the children. The sharpener just can't withstand the amount of pencils needed for an elementary classroom although it's name suggests so "school pro."

The students hate the short point this this sharpener makes which results in them trying to shove their pencils in too hard. And as for quiet, I wonder, compared to what? If you're in a classroom where the kids are so little that the teacher does all the sharpening, then this might be for you. Middle school and high school teachers will be baffled that this thing was supposedly designed for classroom use.

My principal gave me a brand new one for my 2nd grade classroom. It lasted exactly one year. When it broke I went and bought another -- again it lasted only one year. The motor works and it sounds like it's sharpening but it's not. I've checked for jams, nothing. It's just another dud.

This seems to be a good pencil sharpener. The motor is powerful enough, resulting in a steady run while the pencil is sharpening. I cannot speak for the endurance of the blades, since it won't get a huge workout in my office. I bought this for the array of sizes it will allow, and therein lies my one qualification. The wheel one adjusts to allow various sizes is set too loosely, and it sometimes moves while the pencil is being sharpened, resulting in uneven sharpening and repeated attempts to resharpen. I'd probably buy this product again, but since it seems to be the only electric that allows various sizes, what choice do I have?

I purchased the sharpener for studio use. It didn't even last a year. The motor still runs well, it just won't sharpen. This is not a cheap model, and it is advertised as for "classroom use". My guess is in a classroom it wouldn't make it three months!
