I bought this for home use, have 4 grandkids in our multigenerational home. The one thing I have done is NOT allow them access to it. I do all the sharpening and could not be happier. I use it every few days. The price was great, the delivery quick, and I don't see why it would not last a long time.

I also am a teacher who bought three of these for my classroom. The cutters became dull halfway through the year, and now we are in the fourth quarter and none of them will work. They may be fine for light usage, but they are not suitable for a classroom.

I am a teacher and need a dependable pencil sharpener. I sharpened probably twenty pencils with this sharpener and then it stopped working! Can the X-Acto company send me a new one so that I can try it again? Maybe I just got a lemon!

I have used many types of electric pencil sharpeners in the past. I appreciate the speed of this model as well as the quality of the point it produces. It surpasses other electric sharpeners I have used and I'm pleased with this purchase.

It looks nice sitting on a desk and the suction cups worked to keep it in place but that's about all the positive remarks I have for this unit. Didn't sharpen tips evenly, you had to find that "sweet" spot......not too far in, not too far out. Very irritating. Already broken and I will not replace it with another of the same brand.
