I didn't realize that this product wasn't re-manufactured by HP. With that aside, the savings are useless. Every page prints with large blotches of ink, or completely blurred. It's as if I'm using an old ink cartridge. This is certainly one of the worse purchases I have ever made.
great to find an ink replacement cartridge that doesn't break the bank
I thought I would save money and get these cheaper ink cartridges for my HP printer. I just ran out of the HP ink the printer came with when I bought it. and I had no idea how sorry I would be for not spending the extra $25 to buy real HP ink. The very first day I installed them I noticed my printer was making loud clicking sounds and printing a blurred and watered down mess, I didn't think it could be the ink, how could ink cause this much damage. I continued to use the ink in my new printer and it only got worse.. If the printer sat for any length of time (a day) without use the quality of the printing declined 100%. I had to run through an entire maintenance process, clean the print heads and align them every time before I could print anything, and most of the time I had to run 3 or more copied before I got a legible page. I am not exaggerating at all either. I printed an article one day and forgot all about it. Later I went back and saw a piece of paper in the tray with one black smudge mark through the center and a large black blot at the top. I couldn't tell what it was until I remembered the article I printed earlier. It was not recognizable. Not even one letter could be distinguished as a letter on the page. Every time I used the printer I got more and more frustrated,,,, and I thought it was the printer that was failing, not the ink . After a month I had enough and I called HP for warranty service. I explained the noises and that I couldnt print a legible page or photo that was anything more than a page of black and yellow smudges. Once I mentioned "generic" ink they told me to call back after I replaced the generic with a quality HP ink. They had seen it before and if they did work on it now the tests and troubleshooting could cause permanent damage to the printer (if it wasn't already ruined). So I ordered the HP ink and installed them 3 days ago. Amazingly after printing a bout 4 to 5 pages just to clear the lumpy ink out of the print heads my print was clear and bright again. It was unbelievable to me to see how much difference it made. I am so glad I didn't permanently damage the printer. I don't need to call HP for warranty service anymore, the ink was the issue all along. Once it was changed the grinding and clicking stopped and every page I print is perfect! I still have 1 full cartridge of black " ink" and 4 other half empty cartridges that I am going to just throw away. They are no good to anyone and I will never put that stuff in my printer again, even if I need a spare cartridge down the road, I wouldn't think of using these! And I see they don't allow refunds on their product either.Hmmm, they don't want it back and I see why they don't. I learned the hard way... please don't make the same mistake I did. If you don't believe me take these partially empty ones... on second thought I don't want to be responsible for the damage to your printer :) I Hope this review helped.
