This shredder works OK, but remember it only cuts long 1/4 " strips and you can still read text on the strips. The door doesn't open far enough for the basket to be removed without some struggle. The basket is just wire frame so you will need to use the plastic bags they supply. It cuts & shreds well but is a royal pain to empty. If you need to be secure get a cross cut shredder-not this one. If all you want is to shred it works well for that but remember it's 1/4" long cuts.

I bought this unit for Christmas for my mother. When I asked her what she and her husband wanted, she replied, "I'd love a really nice shredder...I've already broken two!" So I went on a quest to find a '...really nice shredder...' When I found this one, I thought it was a bit pricey, but when I compared it to others, it fit the bill a bit better than others so I bought it. Mom says so far it is a quality product. She said it shreds fast and the cabinet is made of a nice quality product. She says it looks nice and seems durable. She's only had it about a week. If I have new/different information in the next few months, I will post. For now, I still feel it was a bit pricey, but Mom thinks it's above average, so maybe it is worth it. Husband (who is serving in Iraq and did not help me pick it out) said I paid too much for it, but I guess time will tell. Good luck.

I have been through three shredders and I'm so glad I finally found this one. It is wonderful that it has a rack that holds the bag and is so easily removed. I can't believe how quiet this machine is. The other ones I've had were so obnoxious. Definitely the best buy for the money.

Although it's a bit larger than I thought, this shredder works great! Quiet, smooth, and can handle thick documents. It will shut down to cool after about continuous minutes of use,but it certainly handled a large job I had for it.

I've only had this for a couple of weeks but overall I'm happy with it. It looks very high quality and it has shredded everything I've put in its path. Looks very similiar to a computer tower. Overall, very happy and good value for money.

This is one of te most quiet shredders I have ever owned. It also handles the amount of papers claimed. The only drawback is the papers aren't crosscut but straight. If someone wanted to take the shreddings and piece them together that might be able to get a number or name. I mix them up when I put into a trash bag to make that impossible

So far this shredder has been great for our home office. Much more heavy duty than our old one.
