Cracks after 9 months After about 9 months of light duty, the mat has developed a dozen or so cracks (about 6 in long). The mat was used on carpet, with a typical five-roller office chair. It will likely need to be replaced in a year.

I needed a durable extended length chair mat for carpets. Since the previous 48x60 served faithfully for years (until the wife took it for her office when she started working at home), I decided to go with Floortex again. This 48x79 isn't as thick as the 48x60 (.02" diff)but hopefully it'll be just as strong.

Thie item would still function as needed, but placing such a heavy item on the mat may cause it to warp from the weight.
