Middle of the fence This chair mat is decent enough. It definitely protects my carpet in my office from being damaged by my chair. The downside to it though is that it doesn't have anything to grip the carpet to prevent it from sliding. So everytime I scoot in or scoot out or get up it slides in and to the side resulting in me having to bend over twice a day to readjust it. If only it had something on the bottom to grip the carpet to prevent this. Also it is a little slippery on top had a couple of close calls so far with it. Even with those minor inconviences it still protects my carpet though, but I suppose you get what you pay for since the price is relatively low compared to other chair mats.

Home office This mat is very thin and does not have anything on the underside to "grip' the carpet...so it slides around, does not lie flat and just isn't all that great. My desk chair does not move easily over it....not good.
