This chair is comfortable and seems well built (and heavy). The seat is wide, cushy, and supportive. The seat back is comfortable. The chair does have quirks. At first some of the controls worked poorly (one did nothing, a couple made crude and abrupt changes, and one adjustment was very hard to make). A couple of these issues were solved by loosening a knob under the seat (see the TIP below). Beginning at the rear of the chair: Lever 1 adjusts back angle. It adjusts rearward nicely and locks nicely, but watch out if you release the lock to bring the seat forward. The adjustment spring is strong and if you aren't leaning on the back when you unlock the lever the back snaps abruptly to the forward most position; Lever 2 adjusts seat angle. This also has a strong spring and can send the seat tilting forward rather strongly and quickly. At first it was very hard to adjust the seat rearward against the strong spring. TIP: Loosen the big round knob under the front of the chair. This knob adjusts the tension needed to tilt the chair back. Once loosened, the seat angle adjustment works much easier and smoother. I loosened at least 40 twists! ; Lever 3 slides the seat forward and back. This adjustment works well to adjust seat depth for different leg lengths. I have the seat all the way back and I am just able to get back support when I sit all the way back on the large seat. Much less than a 31" inseam may have trouble getting back support; Lever 4 adjusts seat height nicely; Lever 5 adjusts "forward tilt". At first it did nothing no matter which way I pushed or pulled it. After loosening the tensioning knob (TIP above) I discovered that this lever will move forward and back if you first unlock Lever 2 and lean back in the seat. The forward position of Lever 5 allows the seat to tilt back but only come forward until it is level with the floor ( a normal sitting postition). With Lever 5 in the rearward position the seat will lean forward farther and still will lean back. You can lock it in position with Lever 2. Tilting the seat forward and raising the height can make a very comfortable and upright seating position. All in all I am getting used to the quirks and find it a great chair.
As a former office furniture sales specialist for over 10 years, quality and value were very important in my buying decision. My wife and I are setting up a new business and we were looking for higher quality chairs for our new office. As we will sit in these chairs over 8 hours per day, comfort and adjustability were very important features for us. We were both pleasantly surprised at how extremely comfortable our new Ergo chairs were. The chairs have 5 paddles for adjustment (2 more than normal), along with many other useful features. This is a very heavy duty chair that, in my opinion, will stand up to many years of use. Assembly only took 10 minutes per chair. It is obvious that the manufacturer paid a lot of attention to the small details. My wife and I would highly recommend this chair and plan on buying more of these chairs as our business expands.
FI-nal-ly!!! A chair I can sit in and KNOW I can sit here comfortably for hours! I'm a 5ft 6in woman, 180 pounds, but I have long legs and a short waist (high-waisted). My inseam is 35 inches. So usually when I sit in office chairs, the back of my calves are easily 6 inches from the front edge of the chair seat. I felt as though the chairs stopped supporting me mid-thigh! With this chair's feature, the "seat depth adjustment", I can slide the seat forward 2-3 inches and voila! Instant ahhhhh! Now the backs of my calves almost touch the front edge of the seat. I can now rest my back against the back of the chair, not scoot forward so as to alleviate the lack of support under my thighs and suffer from burning neck pain. Overstock delivered my chair quickly and with all the pieces for only $2.95!!!! My favorite website to shop! Good thing I was at home though - UPS would have just left the chair on my porch!
great design, great value and great comfort..I love this chair. There is nothing out there I can compare with except for the expensive chairs in the market. price I paid for is unbelievable for the numbers of functions it have. A great chair which had drawn me to comment and review it here.
I bought this chair after much research and reading of reviews. Even so, I was somewhat anxious that it would not live up to the positive reviews. As it turns out, I absolutely love this chair! I'm a pretty big guy (230 lbs) but this chair is so generously sized I have room to spare. And honestly, it's the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in! Between university classes and recreation I spend a lot of time in the chair and I really enjoy it. It's well made, very adjustable and extremely comfortable. If you're looking for an office type chair and this is in your price range, don't hesitate. Buy it! Swinglow

I purchased this chair for my home office, I am in it about six hours a day. It is very comfortable and has so many adjustments you can make it would be hard not to find one that fit you perfectly. I have anothe chair in my other office that I paid double the money and this on stands up to it. Well worth the $$.
Yeah, I had issues with the back dropping down too. I'd raise the back all the way to the highest setting and it would immediately drop down to the lowest setting again. After double checking to make sure I put it together correctly I took a closer look at the assembly for the back height adjustment and had an epiphany: the back is designed to have 5 height settings, and if you raise it higher that the fifth click, it will reset itself, and drop back down to the bottom. Yeah, I know - a real facepalm moment.. But for the other reviewers who are having these issues, try slowly raising the back and counting the clicks - the first five you shouldn't be able to push the back down. Number six is the reset. As for the chair itself? It's great. I'm a big guy (6'5", 215#) and am perfectly comfortable in it - I spend all day at work on my feet and pretty much all of my free time at my desk, and the chair has all the adjustments necessary to keep me in good shape. Better than anything I could find after looking for a couple of months at office supply stores, and cheaper by far than any of the top of the line options.
I read the previous reviews so I was expecting the same issues experienced by others. I found it easy to assemble once I figured out which parts went with which steps (there is not much in the way of directions!) It took a little while to figure out what each lever/pull on the chair did (one I can't figure out if it does anything!!!) But overall it is a great chair for the price I paid. My only comlaint is that it is about an inch too high for my leg lenght even when I have the chair all the way down. I bought a foot rest to make up for that (I am average height for a woman at 5'4".) The chair seat, back and arms are all very comfortable. I am very happy overall with the purchase!
Nice comfortable chair. Easy to put together. Came with nice assembly instructions, but no user manual. I still don't know how to use the front adjustment lever. Don't know whether it doesn't work because it is broken, or because I am too dense to know how it should work. Overall I am happy with the comfort and ergonomic design of the chair. It looks nice too. Price is fair compared to all other choices out there.
I sit in my chair 9 hours a day and this chair is just plain comfortable. Only complaint I have is lack of operating instructions. Couldn't figure out why the back wouldn't stay in position until I took it apart only to realize it requires and up and down motion to lock it in. After that the chair is just great.
Did not expect much for the price I had paid for this chair as comparing with a chair which cost thousands of dollars. This chair is a performance chair my..man, it has got all the functions I needed, the seat is really soft and has thick in volume soft cushion foam, which gave me the long hour comfort seating. At this moment I think I had a great value purchase . I love this chair! and I am so happy and I can't wait to share this with other who is looking for a great value task chair!
I bought this chair through reading reviews. This chair score BIG TIME in every aspects of comfort seating. 2 thumbs up!!!!!!!
A lot of people have already left reviews on how great this chair is and many have included the hints/tips on how to adjust the back of the chair. Be sure to read that part! Primarily, raise the back very slowly and listen for the clicks. Once you hear the 5th click, STOP. It will raise higher but it won't lock into place and that is why others reported it as not staying up. Simple, once you know that. I had my boyfriend put the chair together for me. He is very mechanically minded so he had it put together in about 20 minutes once I found the right ratchet tool for the bit it went a lot faster. If I had found it sooner, it would have been put together in about 10 minutes. Directions are pictorial, and he didn't have any problems with it at all. The chair itself is exactly as pictured. It is more attractive than I thought it would be in my living room and I love the comfort and many adjustments. I am 5' 6" tall, and it is comfortable and supportive of my back. I particularly enjoy the soft, molded armrests which I have at the maximum height. I do not have long legs but I do not experience any problems with my feet not touching the floor, nor have I had any difficulty with my thighs not being supported as a few others reported. The chair seat is surprisingly wide, at least 2 to 3 inches wider than most office chairs, and the depth of the seat is longer than any I have ever had. I was slightly concerned about that but it was fine. The one thing that could have made it 5 star perfect would if it didn't have so much play in it if you wobble side to side and if the armrest would have been able to be adjusted higher than they go by about another 2". Doesn't affect the ergonomics or present any problems, just mentioning it. Overall, I am very pleased with this chair and I expect it to last many years. If your budget is around $200, I firmly believe you will not find a finer chair than this one at 3 times the price. I'd definitely buy it again.

Nice, good quality chair. The biggest problem with this chair is it's height adjustment. I'm 5' 10" and at the lowest point even I need a footrest for proper fit. This is an important part of the ergonomics of a chair. It's ridiculous how high it can go. At the highest my feet dangle about 8 inches off the floor At the lowest they are about 2 inches. So if you are NOT OVER 6 feet tall or have SUPER long legs STAY AWAY from this chair! This chair replaced my Aeron chair that broke and if not for this issue I'd be happy with it. Also it's not very well balanced as the tilt spring is too strong. I may have to take the $*** bath and get another ****.
- How accurate was the sizing? Not accurate at all!!!!

This chair exceeds everything we had wanted. First of all it was easy to assemble, The workmanship is great. It look wonderful. and the most important issue: The staff person we purchased it for is very pleased with it.

Easy assembly (despite the lack of any useful instructions). Chair is super adjustable and very comfortable for those long sessions in front of a computer or for any desk task.

At lowest adjustment its too high from seat to floor for my legs- I'm 5'7" and my feet are about three inches from the floor. Back and seat adjustments are strange/wild and don't seem to have ergo adjustment to them. Arm rests are low enough my elbows don't rub on them but can be raised higher. Its way better than the cheap chair its replacing. Pretty easy to assemble even for a creaky ole great gramma.
- Did the product fit true to size? no
- How is the quality of the product? its okay
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? yes
The chair is built very well and is very comfortable. Has many levers to adjust various aspects, from tilt to seat length to back hight. The only thing is that the manufacturer provides virtually no instructions for how to do these adjustments. Some can be guessed, but some of these are very non-obvious. Once I had to email to the manufacturer--xxxxxxxxx, by the way - overstock.com does not list that on its site. The good thing is that the manufacturer responds promptly, even on Sundays.
