The product does not match the enclosed directions from the manufacturer. The battery adapter cannot be opened. 4 of us tried and it simply will not open. We are using the product with the electrical adapter. If we could open the adapter, the battery size required does not match the actual battery supplied with the product. This unit is really not a table top scale. But for the price, we can live its issues.
This electronic shipping scale is bad altogether. After only 2 weeks of having it, it broke and refused to work. It says it has a 400 lbs capacity, yet my packages at the most were 80 lbs and it refused to give me a good reading, or the screen would go "blank" for no reason.
Got so frustrated with it, just dumped it in the trash bin. Price is good but the product is no good, do not buy.

Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? Full of defects.
Unfortunately, I selected this scale before the reviews started pouring in. Though shiny and new, it has no idea what number it would like to rest on. While it does indeed turn on, the numbers are fickle and randomly change out of sequential order. They do not even to seem to hover around any particular amount for longer than a split second. Setting still on a concrete floor, you might read -0.8 lbs to 1.9 lbs. without any reason. Thinking it must simply need zeroed out and anticipated it could at least read an approximate, I stepped on it with a 9 lb package. I weighed myself that morning, so a quick subtraction should do the trick. The scale DROPPED from 1.9 lbs to 1 lb. for a few seconds. The scale quickly remembered that it had a short attention span and began grasping at single digit numbers again. I am currently waiting on the situation to be fully resolved through the customer service. So far they have been gracious. However, the process isn't complete, so at this point, I will hold any permanent remarks regarding how Overstock has concluded the ordeal. At this moment, I do not believe that I can re-use the discount coupon code that originally assisted in this purchase---which I bought as a 'spend $ X on the coupon and get $ Y off the next purchase'. In conclusion..... I do not suggest the DigiWeigh DW-63 for anything other than an expensive way of making one feel as though they may have shed those extra (hundred) pounds.

Well, this was my first Overstock purchase and probably my last.
The scale was poorly packaged in flimsy cardboard, one piece of packing tape at either end with the result being that the end flaps were ripped and gapped opened. Part of the scale was protruding out of one end, and the power supply and electronics unit could fall out the other. Which had obviously happened along the way since the electronics display box (part that shows the weight) was all scratched up, looked like it was several years old, and when handling it pieces could be heard rattling around inside. There were no markings or labels of any kind on the scale, no paperwork or instructions inside.
The power supply and display were both marked "Made in China" with no brand or manufacturer's name anywhere. This unit was, and still is, advertised as being Made in the USA--an outright deception and falsehood.
Amazingly, even with all the bits rattling around inside, the unit actually powered up even though the power connector on the display was only half exposed through the hole in the plastic body. I had to push the plug in at an angle and basically pry it into the display's connector to get it to seat. But even though it turned on, it was not accurate. Compared to 2 other scales it was off by as much as 5 pounds and anything under 3 wouldn't even register.
Basically, I've seen better quality at a flea market. Buy at your own risk.

Scale appears to be very accurate as I used a 20lb weight on it and it displayed 20.01 lbs. I did this a couple of times with turning it off and on and repositioning the weight and I got the same reading.

I just purchased this scale and it is not weighing things; seems to be stuck; no movement of the plate. How can I obtain the user manual to determine how to correct this problem? No manual came with it.budge1 on Nov 5, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
