Bush Series C Corsa 5-shelf Double Bookcase

Our basement flooded and we had to replace three bookcases. I needed 14" deep bookcases for our purposes and these fit the need. I was a bit leery ordering from Overstock as I had ordered 6 counter top chairs previously and 4 of them arrived damaged (very scratched up). This order was the same. All 3 bookcases are scratched and will require a woosworkers pen to cover them up. The bookcases themselves are true to the color in the photos and very sturdy. Also, the pieces/parts are clearly marked making assembly quite easy. I would have given 5 stars if they had not been damaged.

I've always been highly satisfied by my Overstock purchases, until now. While the bookcases look nice, the backs are literally nothing more than some upscale cardboard that matches the veneer. They provide virtually no structural support, so the bookcases are just made of the four sides and the shelves. At half the price, this would be what I'd expect. For this price, though, I was certainly hoping for something that lived up to the quality of other purchases I've made here. Again, they look nice enough. But that's about all I can say in their favor.

This item arrived with two chips on the side piece. It took a long time to put it together and the directions were very confusing. Unless you have carpentry skills, I would not recommend this item.

I ordered 2 book cases. One arrived fine, the other was damaged. I was able to get replacement panels from directly from Bush with no hassles. Thank you Bush Furniture, a happy customer is a retuning customer. New parts arrived in 4 days. Book cases are easy to build and seem quite stable. They are of course particle board core with an attractive vernier, but sure my office quite well. They are more solid than other cheaper book cases I've bought over the years. Of course I wish these were less expensive, but it was a good deal. My local **** was charging roughly $80 more each for the same bookcase. Overall I'm happy.
