The only problem I had was with the color from the stain coming off on my white carpet. I was able to clean it up for the most part, but I was shocked that it was still wet. Very easy to put together, just very time consuming. I felt like a rock star when I did it by myself. Really should have 2 people to lift the hutch onto the desk, though. That nearly killed me.
This desk was a lot of pieces, like a lot. With the hutch, the desk overall took about 3 or so hours to build. There are no scratches, a lot of storage, and the cabinets on top slide and don't open out with hinges like normal desks which is very nice. The panel to run your wires through I thought was small but you can take one part of it off, run your big wires, then bend the rubber part on it, then put it back on. Overall, this is the best desk I have ever owned.
There are a lot of pieces so you have to be very careful that you follow the pictures explicitly. Some of the work definitely requires two people because the sections are heavy and they have to be held while the other person assembles it. I am very happy with the desk and hutch. I also ordered the tech file cabinet (from another source because Overstock didn't have it) and it matched perfectly. Overstock had the best price on this and their delivery was great.
- How accurate was the sizing? Very accurate
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. I was pleasantly surprised because the desk was very affordable. It is sturdy and easily holds the weight of my books in the book case. The hutch comes with a safety strap to attach to the wall -- good thing for earthquake country.
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? There was a slight scratch on a panel but it is in an area that isn't seen.
