I own this exact typewriter now. It was a gift from my husband. I went on vacation and came back and it is "toast". Three people tried to fix when I was gone. I lost my husband in 2008 and it is rare to replace things he gave me (we also had a fire in 2006 and lost everything) except my typewriter was at work, so when I can, I do. It has been an excellent typewriter over 10 years.
