I only wanted a chair that is used occasionally - not an all day work station. Looks and comfort are adequate for that. More precise directions would have been nice. The pneumatic feature is poor - otherwise it's fine.

This is the worst purchase I ever made. When assembling the arms and attaching them to the chair the holes did not allign and I had to force them to fit. After several weeks of use, the arms broke apart at the curve and could not be fixed. I removed the arms thinking I could get along without them. However the back of the chair broke off after I leaned back on it. If I had the reciept, I would mail it back to Overstock for a refund. DO NOT BUY THIS CHAIR.

I ordered this chair in black back in July to replace another banker's chair that had prematurely bit the dust. But I intentionally waited to review it because after reading quite a few mixed opinions on how well the chair holds up to daily wear and tear--especially after seeing how my previous chair did actually fit the description of some reviewer's complaints, I was cautious not to rave too soon. However, after hours of daily use for 4 months I have nothing to offer but a good report. The chair looks expensive and having spied models of similar quality at a local high-end furniture store--ones priced MUCH higher--and then alternately finding far shoddier versions of it at discount office supply places, I feel even better about my purchase. I like a chair that sits straight up and this one offers a rigid back. If you like to lean back or dislike sitting quite upright, this is not the chair for you. But if you're accustomed to banker chairs that don't have a million up/down and back/forth adjustment options, want a quality-looking piece that was easy to assemble and was not missing any parts (says the hubby), a breeze to clean, holds my not so petite frame with ease, and has held up quite beautifully, I'd buy with confidence. The two main pluses for me: the lack of flimsy plastic at the base of the chair--the piece that connects the legs to the cylinder support (my old banker's chair looked SO cheap just because of that darn piece of plastic)-- and the quality of the casters. This baby can roll as smoothly and effortlessly as any chair I've ever owned. I have no reservations that this chair will serve me well for years to come.

This is a beautiful chair. Unfortunately, we have used it less than one day and the elbow joint on each of the arms is already splitting apart. We are not overweight by any means but I don't think the arm design is strong enough for leaning back in the chair. The arms were the hardest thing to assemble to the body of the chair as the holes were a littlle off - we suspected there would be some tension in this joint as we noticed, once assembled and the screws tighthened, the cut where the arms meet the seat are not flush. There is quite a gap and now we wonder if we should shim it with a piece of wood. We have adjusted the tension so if you are sitting and need to lean back a bit to ease stress on your lower back, you are able to. My husband is going to put some sort of support bracket under each elbow so you can't see it, but the joints are definitely pulling apart. It's a good looking piece and I'll be very disappointed if it doesn't work for us. I hope he can fix it.

This chair was a great find and exactly what I had been looking for! It was easy to assemble without too many tiny pieces. Easy height adjustment and reclining while having a sturdy feel and look.

We're very pleased with the banker's chair, exactly what we were looking for. Good solid craftsmanship, classic style with modern features, e.g. up/down and tilted back. Easy to assemble, only quibble is that the handle for raising and lowering the base seems kind of flimsy compared with the rest of the chair which is quite solid. I'm afraid it could break off over time. Also, the tilt function doesn't appear to work. Great deal, and always a great experience purchasing from Overstock.

My husband and I have been searching for an office chair for our new desk at home. We liked the looks of this, but were a little hesitant ordering furniture online. We ended up ordering it and we are very happy! Shipping only took 3 days - wow! My husband had it together in 20 minutes and had a smile on his face (ladies - you know how you have to stay away from your hubby when he gets frustrated putting things together? No worries here!). I ordered this black computer chair to match my black wood barstools. It was so easy to assemble that my children did it for me. It matches perfectly. The finish on my chair was very nice. It is made well and is very comfortable. I think it is an excellent buy.

This chair is what I was looking for but the Fruitwood was a different shade than what I expected. I was looking for more of a golden shade rather than the reddish color. The leather seat could have more cushion but it is OK. Follow the assembly instructions exact, especially the part of not screwing the back & sides in all the way. You need room to move the parts in order to line up the screw holes.

We got several for our office and they look great, are comfortable and spin nicely. We had to call the help number after putting the first together because we couldn't figure out how to raise the seat someone very quickly told us to push in the little lock and pull the lever up so hard that it almost feels like you're going to brake it which worked like a charm. The rest were much easier to put together.

good value for great looking desk chair! Assembly easy, had extra screws, etc but better than being short!!

I purchased a desk unit from **** and they wanted over *** for the matching chair. I order this one in hopes it would look good and it does! It came very quickly and was easy to put together. It looks identical to the one that went with the desk unit from ****. Saved a ton of money and no one would even know I ordered from Overstock!

I bought two of these beautiful chairs less than a year ago.I am writing now after using them in our home office frequently. Both arms on both chairs have come loose, they appear to be pieced together and also have a nail hammered between the joint where the arm parts are connected. The back has come loose and they are ready for a garbage heap.I am so disappointed because I loved them and thought them to be beautiful and sturdy chairs. I would think about the long run if these are worth it.The construction is very very poor.Of course, I cannot return them now.

I have looking for a nice wooden chair for my home office because I hate all the contemporary looking office chairs. I'm so glad I waited and got this one. It was not hard to put together, it has adjustable height options and it's nice and sturdy. Good job overstock!

I like this chair. It is comfortable and works well for me at my little kitchen desk. My husband put it together for me while I was out of town. I don't think he had too much trouble assembling it. It did arrive with a dent and scrape on the left arm...not bad enough for me to return it. That one spot looks distressed!

Got exactly what I expected. And was not as bad as I thought putting it together. Some reviews I read prior to buying said this was difficult. But instructions were very easy to follow and only took about 30 minutes to put together. Very solid chair and comfortable too. Totally satisfied with this chair.

i am very satisfied with the boss hardwood chair. it dies everything as advertised. i especially commend the customer service at overstock for making sure we received the correct parts. also, norstar did everything they could to correct the faulty part. i thank both departments for their titrless help. i love the chair

The package arrived much more quickly than I thought it would take to get here. It took about one hour to put the chair together, instructions were very easy to use. The chair is very comfortable. I was disappointed that the cherry color was sold out at the time of purchase, but the fruitwood color surprised me and is really excellent.

I purchased this chair to accompany an antique secretary desk that I had. Other, more modern looking, computer chairs looked out of place with it. This chair has a really great look to it that compliments antiques. I ordered it in Fruitwood. It is difficult to tell from the photo, but the cushion color is black. The color of the fruitwood may be a touch darker in person. I'm not the primary user of the chair, but when i have sat in it, it is very comfortable. It was very easy to assemble. I am a small woman but was able to put most of it together without assistance. They packaged the chair very well and had no damage when I received it. The box weighed something like forty pounds and I was ecstatic that I was still able to get the $2 shipping that overstock.com offers. Overall, I am very happy with the chair. I looked at many other stores and websites, and am ultimately very happy I chose this chair.
