Good Value
from saint paul, mn,  Jan 22, 2011

This is not an attractive chair - but is rather good looking as budget office chairs go. I tried it out at a local furniture warehouse and I thought it was comfortable, solid and functional. It has a heavy welded steel frame and everything about it looks decent - the welds are not that great looking, but they are large and the whole thing is pretty heavy as has a firm feel to it. There is a lever for height as well as tilt - and with the head rest you can tilt far enough so to actually take a nap after you have had a big large burrito for lunch. The mesh is cool and offers substantial support. The armrests are made of solid dense foam rubber composite that is comfortable and should not wear through or separate like many past chairs I have owned. The best part about this chair is an adjustable lumbar support that is ingeniously attached to the back bar. The finish on the arm moldings and frames aren't perfect so imperfections seem to be the rule here. The chair jet black so they don't stand out. I purchased this for $200 locally and I thought it was good value so I'm not sure why anyone would expect much from any office chair that sells for $****. If I had not actually sat in it I would have passed it up at that price figuring it would be too poor quality. On that note, the design is overly heavy which is a good thing when manufacturing quality control is poor as is typical of . Time will tell if the hydraulics, welds and fabric hold out. If it lasts a year or so, that would be reasonable for the low price. Looking back, I paid $150 for an office chair back in 1990 and it had nowhere near the quality and comfort that this piece offers.

Boss Galaxy Matrex Mesh Executive Chair
from Chesterfield, MO,  Jun 23, 2008

While I think this chair is pricey and rather hard to assemble, particularly the arm pads, I would purchase it again. A fused disk in my neck requires me to sit very straight with good neck support. This is the only chair I've found (this is #4) that has a seat that is not too deep so I can still scoot in to my desk, sit straight up and have neck support without having to lean back. If you catch yourself craning your neck and have tremendous neck pain at the end of the day this chair is for you!

Terrible chair!
from Leesburg, VA,  Dec 12, 2007

I have used this chair for about 2 months. IT IS TERRIBLE! The seat slants forward and there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust it. Other adjustment knobs let go and don't hold the adjustment. It now won't hold the seat height adjustment and slowly sinks lower as you sit in it for a while. We bought an $80 office chair for our son from a local store that is far better than this chair. I would NEVER recommend this chair and would readily return it if the shipping charges weren't so high.

Not Comfortable
from Middle of Nowhere, Arizona Desert,  Nov 24, 2007

This chair is not comfortable, almost painful to sit in. One really bad thing about it is that it does not rock. Another is that the latch that is supposed to hold the back rest in the position that you want does not always hold and will snap forward without you ever touching the lever. Definitely not what I expected!

Be the Boss With This Galaxy Matrex Mesh Chair
 from California,  Nov 8, 2007

"Some assembly required" is always less fun than "Assembled," but this is a great chair for a great value. No more sore back!

I would definitely recommend this chair to anyone who spends any amount of time in front of a computer. The mesh back contours to the back, while giving it support. The lumbar support is adjustable for comfort. The chair is easy to assemble, and will only take 20 minutes--if you are not familiar in putting a chair together. The arm supports are contoured and padded to the fore arms for comfort. It is very comfortable, easily assembles. If i needed to, I would out fit a whole office with these chairs. The price was definitely worth it.

Try not to fall out!
 Jul 25, 2007

This chair is made of good quality materials- however when assembled it tilts forward a lot so you are constantly having to fight the urge not to slide off the front of the chair.

Great Chair - comfortable - and definitely a good chair for long hours in front of the computer. Back pain has been much better due to the chair.

Lumbar Support Chair
from Newcastle, OK,  Jul 13, 2007

The chair has nearly all the same features of a chair costing three times its cost. It has good quality, ease in assembly and all the features I really need to support my bad back when working on the computer.
