I shopped around online for quite a while, paying particular attention to other customers' reviews, before settling on this kneeling chair from Overstock. The assembly was a mild pain, but not terribly difficult -- it took me, by myself, about 20 minutes. The cushions are firm but don't feel cheap. The chair does not look cheap in the room, either. I've been using it for about a week now and am happy with the purchase. It's great to switch into for a bit after I've been sitting in my regular office chair for a while. The wheels make it easy to slide it over to my desk, hop on, and slide it away when not using it.
This is the lowest price option for a kneeling chair online. You get what you pay for. The wood frame is a bit sketchy on durability. Only time will tell. The seat and knee rest can be recovered with a staple gun, so you'll eventually need to redo those parts because the padding isn't the best - it's already taking a beating with daily use after only 2 weeks. Assembly was easy and straightforward. It takes sitting on it to determine the right height. I haven't been able to successfully readjust it, though, since the initial setting (which could be a problem if more than one person uses it). For a home office, it's fine, but not durable enough for regular office use. I needed it because I have a bad back, and it has definitely eliminated the pain I had with regular office chairs. The size is fine for someone like me of small stature, but the instructions do have a weight limit of 200 lbs. For about 20 bucks more you can find other online sources that use a steel frame. I think if you're tight on cash, this is a great option, just don't expect it to be a high-quality item. If you're concerned about durability, consider paying the extra bucks for a steel frame. You'll be getting the same product with a bit more durability.
Not very impressed, cheaply made, the fabric is not very breathable and doesn't feel durable. Height adjustment is limited for tall folks. I'm 6'4" and have to use a pillow to be in a more comfortable position that relieves back pain. All in all it does the job so can't complaint too much, especially at this price.
This chair's manufacturer needs to create a quality control department. The screw hole pattern for one of the pads of this chair does not line up with the hole pattern drilled onto the frame. The holes are off by no less than a half of an inch and I'd have to drill a new hole to make the screws fit. Fortunately, the design of the chair permits the safe use of only two out of the four screws on the pad. If I were at home and not at my new apartment, I would have drilled another hole to put all of the screws in, but most people lack the tools/mechanical aptitude to do so. Aside from that issue, the chair is decent. It's somewhat comfortable, but the construction is quite crude. If I could, I'd adjust the angle that the front pad is at to better suit the length of my legs, but that's only a minor annoyance.
This chair is comfortable and it feels sturdy as I sit on it to type this review. I had to drill new holes in it for it to work and one of the seats only has 2 of the 4 screws installed because the holes they created didn't line up properly. Even with the 2 screws, it seems to be on there ok. It was somewhat difficult to put together (45 minutes) but I'm not an expert at it. Overall, it's a decent chair.
This chair took some getting used to. It was initially hard on my knees, but now I'm really comfortable in it. The bet thing is that it rolls right under the desk.
Not only was the price right but easy to put together and adjustable too! I haven't noticed my back hurting since I've been using this chair and the leg rest could use some more padding but that's easy enough to cover and add to. All round great deal.
Easy to assemble. Comfortable to use. Arrived on time.
The item arrived with a broken when and the replacement wheel was the wrong size. I found the chair a bit difficult to adjust so that I didn't feel like I was sliding off of it. I did take some of the pressure off of my back, but I wouldn't want to sit in it for an entire workday.
I am happy with this chair. Fast shipping, easy enough to assemble. I purchased this chair to use at work because my back was giving me problems from sitting with poor posture. I feel that this chair has helped my back pain.
Seat of chair has a small hard immovable object under the padding. I removed quite a few staples to pull up the seat covering. Reaching my hand between the foam pad and plywood base, I discovered a bolt was protruding through the wood base into my butt. This bolt was not one of the four holding the seat on. Until I can completely remove the padding to extract the bolt, I position myself such that the bolt is between the two soft pads on my own body.
My chair arrived about an hour ago and I've already got it assembled and am sitting on it as I type. I was a little tentative about purchasing it after all the mentions of difficulty putting it together, but the price was right and my previous office chair had just broken. I've wanted a kneeling chair for a long time. I'm an artist and I spend hours at my drafting table, leaning forward as I work, so this seemed perfect. I had no problem at all putting it together - all the screws aligned with their proper holes and the instructions, despite having only pictures, basically made sense. I was able to put it together by myself, with two phillips-head screwdrivers. So, while I haven't used it long enough to be able to attest to the comfort, I have to say it looks nice, seems to be well made (for the price..come on, it's pretty much the cheapest one on the net so don't expect buttery leather upholstery) and was delivered really quickly. I'm a small-framed person, about 5'3", and I'm still messing around with the height adjustment to get it right. I can see where this might not be the best chair for someone of a larger or taller build, but so far I'm very satisfied with it.
I've used kneeling desk chairs for over 30 years now due to lower back issues. When my last one broke I purchased this one hoping it would work as well. I'm not great when it comes to putting things together, but figured I could deal with this since all it required was a screwdriver. The directions weren't all that clear but once I ignored the instructions to make sure all the arrows pointed in the same direction (which, if followed would have put the wheels all on the same side), it went together fine. I did have to use pliers in order to tighten the screws that enter rods that go through the frame. I can't figure out how the knee height is adjustable - once the cushion is installed that's where it sits. As I type, I'm noticing that the chair is higher than my old one so that's taking a bit to get used to. But the cusions are thick and comfy. However if you are long between the hip and the knee I could see having a bit of difficulty folding yourself comfortably. I'm 5'3" and it fits me perfectly.
It is great. I had to have my woodworker husband assemble it because the holes for the sections were too small. He had to use the correct size bit to drill the correct size holes. Assembly was easy after that. I use it every day, I'm siting on it now!
Not what I expected. I have back problems and sit at the computer for long periods. Prior to buying this, I was sitting on one of those large yoga balls that was reccommended. After sitting for an amount of time on this, my butt falls asleep, it's not as comfortable as the yoga ball and I am back to that.
Got this at a great price. The chair is very solid. Cushions are substantial and it was very easy to put together! If you are looking for good quality chair, look no further!
We bought this chair in December 2009, largely because of its smaller dimensions as it fits easily in the space under the desk. The instructions to assemble were correct but hard to follow. Although assembly was tricky at first, once we stepped back and considered how the chair should look and the logical steps to get there, we were able to assemble it without too much of a problem. The chair is moderately comfortable and after a 15 minutes or so, our shins become a bit sore (we're 5'5"" and 5"4" - about 120 lbs each). Still, it is a good utility chair for a short time and for the price, we're happy with it. For a main office chair that we'd be using full time, this would not be a good option.
I'm still working out the height of the seat. I find that I'm sitting too far forward & my knees begin to ache from the pressure. It's pretty comfy. Makes me slow down since my foot has gotten caught on the seat a few times, bringing it with me! Assembly was a little tricky since some of the screws are not as accessible as you think when following the directions. You definitely need about a half hour quiet time to get it situated. I like it a lot!
I did not like the stool; it would probably be good for me, since I like to slouch a lot. I bought it in 2007. But I ended up selling it to someone online last year because it was sitting around the house and no one using it. There was no back support like a regular office chair. There was a small crack on the bottom T where the leg and bar for the wheels are at which appear a year later.
This chair is very easy to control and move, and because it has wheels it is easier to do these things. I would recommend this to a lot of various people who are intrigued by comfort and ease! it works perfectly at my desk for reading and writing, it was WAY more then I expected!
