There was a snafu getting all the parts to this desk. Once I connected with Customer Service I got the missing part within 2 days. Great service from that O'Stock department!!! This desk more than meets our needs-once it was put together. I had to hire a handyman to do it after I just lost patience with the instructions. He had to get a buddy in to help him lift the desktop into place. The overhang on the top allows customers leg room, and my staff has plenty of leg room even with the pull-out for the computer keyboard. The locking file drawer is great. Its large desktop allows for generous "spread-out room." It's a good Bordeaux wine color with a medium grey accent. Quite a modern look.
The delivery company told me they would be here between 9 an 6. Not a great start. They got here at nearly 5 p.m., after I waited at home all day, and there was substantial damage to the box containing the top, and some minor visible damage to the desk top. Not a huge deal, but it's a brand new desk and I would like it in new condition, and given how messed up the box was, indicating an overall lack of care in handling, I was worried about additional damage not readily visible, so I refused the shipment. Called o.com and was told it had to be handled through the oversized department, will take 1-2 business days for them to contact me. So here I am 12 days after I ordered the desk, without a desk and without a clear answer about what happens next. Did they ship me a damaged box, or did it get damaged during transport? Why a 9-6 delivery window? o.com chooses the delivery company, so it's all on them. I'm not at all happy about the experience, or being left in limbo for an additional 1-2 business days.
When the product is shipped make sure to examine the packaging before you accept it. My driver also opened the product and let me inspect it before refusing the first shipment. Good idea from Overstock. The second shipment had no defects although I went to the shipping company and picked up the desk rather than let them deliver it to my home. The product is made of quality material and I am happy with it. I do want to warn you, that as others stated in their reviews, it is time consuming to put this desk together. Make sure you put a day or perhaps more aside to assemble it. I took around 9 hours to assemble it. Take your time and follow the pictures and instructions carefully they can be a might confusing. I still ended up with one small piece (on the drawer) turned around. Thank goodness it is at the bottom and not noticeable. I would not have even noticed it except I was on my knees plugging in my computer. I will also agree that when you put the desk top on you should have a second person to put it on oterwise you will struggle big time with this part. I did it myself and it did take about fifteen to twenty minutes just to get it lined up and I put it on backward. Thank goodness I did not tighten anything down and was able to turn it around quicker after my lessons learned the first time. Only about ten minutes reversing this. Once again never tighten anything until you have looked at it again and made sure it is on the correct way.

This desk by Bestar is perfect for my needs! It was fairly easy to assemble although putting the top of the desk onto the two pedestals would have been easier if I had had a helper! It is a nice piece of furniture and extremely functional!
This desk is high quality furniture but unless you are talented at building things, dont purchase. Its not like building IKEA - its got hundreds and hundeeds of pieces and took weeks to assemble...we called Bestar to send us the missing parts (why were there missing parts!?!) And they would only ship the parts ground, which took 10 days to receive. The desk is attractive, but has been a real hassle. I would not recommend this to anyone.
