I thought I was purchasing a small "book safe" with a lock and key. Nope, when I received it, it was just a book "shell", so you can put whatever you want in it (perhaps your own small safe) but this has no lock & key, just an empty shell.

I got this as a gift for a friend. I was having a hard time finding a book safe that was large enough on the inside, and this fits the bill. It does not look like other book safes, because there are no pages and there is not pages with a cut out center. It looks like a book on the outside, has a magnetic closer and is all box inside with a nice soft lining. I'm not as pleased with the paper insert to title the book, but that can be made to look like a professional journal, or something more permanent looking can be made to insert in the slot. All in all = pretty nice. My friend was very pleased with it.

Very nicely made, this looks like a finely bound book. The inside is velvet and is made very well. Large enough to lots of stuff like money, etc. The flap closes with a built in magnet and is very secure. As long as you have other large books on the shelf, this will fit in very nicely.

I don't know why, but I totally thought this safe came with some king of a lock! It does look like a nice book on my bookshelf, but I wouldn't put anything super valuable in it, since it is lacking a lock. Other than that it's a nice accessory.
