Customer Reviews
This chair has all of the bells and whistles but is much easier on the wallet than the expensive name-brand chairs. Ergo has put alot of thought into making this chair easy to assemble and adjust. I looked at many different product reviews before finding a chair that was in my budget and offered more than just the simple chair height adjustment. Not only can you slide the seat back and forth, but the chair back comes forward enough to promote excellent posture and the chair even tilts to keep pressure off the back of the legs. I am very pleased and would recommend this chair to anyone looking for affordability and comfort.
My office started out buying one of these chairs for an employee. After we received the first chair, we ended up ordering four more -- one more for the office and three for the home offices of employees! They are great! You cannot beat the price for a chair that is this comfortable and can be adjusted to fit so many different preferences!
I read the previous reviews so I was expecting the same issues experienced by others. I found it easy to assemble once I figured out which parts went with which steps (there is not much in the way of directions!) It took a little while to figure out what each lever/pull on the chair did (one I can't figure out if it does anything!!!) But overall it is a great chair for the price I paid. My only comlaint is that it is about an inch too high for my leg lenght even when I have the chair all the way down. I bought a foot rest to make up for that (I am average height for a woman at 5'4".) The chair seat, back and arms are all very comfortable. I am very happy overall with the purchase!
I just got this chair and am not yet ready to evaluate it because I am unable to screw in the arms. The screw attached to the large knobs will not thread in to the hole. Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks.
This chair is comfortable and seems well built (and heavy). The seat is wide, cushy, and supportive. The seat back is comfortable. The chair does have quirks. At first some of the controls worked poorly (one did nothing, a couple made crude and abrupt changes, and one adjustment was very hard to make). A couple of these issues were solved by loosening a knob under the seat (see the TIP below). Beginning at the rear of the chair: Lever 1 adjusts back angle. It adjusts rearward nicely and locks nicely, but watch out if you release the lock to bring the seat forward. The adjustment spring is strong and if you aren't leaning on the back when you unlock the lever the back snaps abruptly to the forward most position; Lever 2 adjusts seat angle. This also has a strong spring and can send the seat tilting forward rather strongly and quickly. At first it was very hard to adjust the seat rearward against the strong spring. TIP: Loosen the big round knob under the front of the chair. This knob adjusts the tension needed to tilt the chair back. Once loosened, the seat angle adjustment works much easier and smoother. I loosened at least 40 twists! ; Lever 3 slides the seat forward and back. This adjustment works well to adjust seat depth for different leg lengths. I have the seat all the way back and I am just able to get back support when I sit all the way back on the large seat. Much less than a 31" inseam may have trouble getting back support; Lever 4 adjusts seat height nicely; Lever 5 adjusts "forward tilt". At first it did nothing no matter which way I pushed or pulled it. After loosening the tensioning knob (TIP above) I discovered that this lever will move forward and back if you first unlock Lever 2 and lean back in the seat. The forward position of Lever 5 allows the seat to tilt back but only come forward until it is level with the floor ( a normal sitting postition). With Lever 5 in the rearward position the seat will lean forward farther and still will lean back. You can lock it in position with Lever 2. Tilting the seat forward and raising the height can make a very comfortable and upright seating position. All in all I am getting used to the quirks and find it a great chair.
