This chair is a really handsome shade of burgundy with bright cherry wood. (BTW, read the directions completely before building it. We had to back track several times because the instructions aren't in an order that allows for the chair to actually be built in that order). When the three of us were constructing it (requires at least one person with some brute strength), I could tell that the bolts were tight and really sturdy.
Why the four stars? The arms hold the back and the seat together in a rigid right angle. No leaning backwards in any way, shape, or form..
Bottom line: If you want a beautiful office chair that won't ever be used for leaning back, it's a great, pricey purchase.

The chair is purple. I have other burgundy furniture and it looks funny in the room. It is solid, nice, and even smells of leather. But the color is not as advertised.

This was a replacement chair. It was considerably less expensive and looks and feels much better than the old one. The high back is very comfortable when sitting at the computer for long periods of time.
