Customer Reviews
We love the chairs - they're sturdy and look great. Our only frustration was the directions for assembly could barely be classified as directions and we had to call customer service to figure out how to raise and lower - they are super hard to raise and lower the first time so you fee like you're going to break them. Customer service (manufacturer) was great though and walked us through it.
I only wanted a chair that is used occasionally - not an all day work station. Looks and comfort are adequate for that. More precise directions would have been nice. The pneumatic feature is poor - otherwise it's fine.
I was excited to get this chair and see if it lived up to my expectations...but it has not completely.I've had this for about 6 months now and it's not wearing well at all.The good:Nice finish, though it does damage easily...rich warm color matches my mahogany desk very well, this is the reason I got it.Decent cushion, comfortable for long hours at the computer...which I average at least 8 a day working from home. The Bad:It just isn't that tight, the joints are loose, and i'm consistently having to tighten the screws in it because the arms and back section are loose and shifting around. A chair like this should be tight, and not do that. I wasn't looking for an heirloom quality chair, but I did spend a reasonable sum and got less than I expected.-There is a design flaw in the arms, they have a joint right where your hands would sit on the arms, and it not only looks bad, but doesn't help when it starts getting loose. This baby rocks and moves around just like a chair shouldn't.-The bottom portion of the chair, under the cushion, the wood is cracking and splitting and looks like 6 years of wear, not 6 months. In the end, i'm happy because i didn't pay a lot for it, but I should have saved my money and bought the Herman Miller chair I wanted to get in the first place....but it didn't match my office. Bottom line, i'm sitting in the chair I wanted to replace with this one with, typing this review because it's way more comfortable and doesn't shift and rock every time i move.
These chairs are excellent for the usual study/library setting. They are functional, stylish in appearance, and comfortable. Someone looking for fine furniture will find the finish too superficial and the detailing sparse, but for most of our needs for a simple computer or desk chair, this amply fits the bill. The price is low and, while that isn't the most important factor in buying, certainly it makes this purchase an excellent value.
