Boss Ergo Stool
badlander77  from Eastern Montana,  Nov 6, 2009
Good value for the money. As with other reviews, I found the stool a little challenging to assemble, but not too bad. The instructions are very brief, but anyone with a minimum aptitude can get the job done with a screwdriver and a little patience. The stool is comfortable and does tend to force you to sit up a little straighter, taking some pressure off your back. I find that you still have to get up now and then to stretch, as the stool causes you to put more weight on your shins and knees. Overall I would say it does help lower back pain and is well worth trying. I sit in front of a computer and keyboard all day and find that the stool is less fatiguing than a conventional chair. It does change some of the angles between you, the keyboard and the monitor, however, but I would have to say the position in general is more comfortable than a conventional office chair.

Love my chair! Easy Assembly!
veejay09  from NEW YORK, NY,  Oct 30, 2009
This chair is so comfortable, I could sit on it for hours. It really helps my posture, and my back pain from sitting slouched has improved, and almost gone. Most importantly, the chair slides completely under my new desk, also purchased from Overstock, so it is a great space saver! Assembly was a snap, but you would need another pair of hands to help you hold one of the pieces while you connect it to the other. Other than that, fastening the two pieces together with screws is a snap. I wish it comes in more lively colors for kids' rooms!

Love It
simonml10  from Whitewater, WI,  Oct 15, 2009
After almost a month of using this product, I still love it. My back feels so much better and the chair glides on my carpet with ease. My knees do get a little sore after being in the bent position after an hour on the chair, but I am able to adjust my position or straighten my legs and it gets better. As far as assembly goes, the chair was easy to put together but the holes weren't lined up perfectly for the screws so that took some time to get right. I was afraid upon purchasing the chair that the cushion would not be thick enough but I have found that it is fine and about an inch and a half to two inches thick. I would buy this product again and again, it was exactly what I have been looking for.

Good quality chair for the price. I purchased this chair for my home office, and now I am considering buying a second chair for my office at work. It definitely relieves the pressure on my lower back, even after major back surgery! I would recommend purchasing this chair to anyone who is looking for a great value.

Great value
aviatormike  from Boston, Massachusetts,  Sep 9, 2009
I shopped around online for quite a while, paying particular attention to other customers' reviews, before settling on this kneeling chair from Overstock. The assembly was a mild pain, but not terribly difficult -- it took me, by myself, about 20 minutes. The cushions are firm but don't feel cheap. The chair does not look cheap in the room, either. I've been using it for about a week now and am happy with the purchase. It's great to switch into for a bit after I've been sitting in my regular office chair for a while. The wheels make it easy to slide it over to my desk, hop on, and slide it away when not using it.

Helped my hip
ljn51  from Northern, NY State,  Jul 25, 2009
I purchased this chair because a congential shallow hip socket has begun to cause pain when I've been sitting at the computer in a normal chair for prolonged periods of time. I'm only 51, and I'd get up from the conventional chair and find that for the first several steps I would limp noticeably until the hip loosened up. This chair was easy to assemble. My whole family laughs when I dare to pick up a tool because they know how hopeless I am. It took me about 30 minutes while watching an old movie on TV. I got a little confused along the way, but that's normal for me. I still accomplished the task with minimal concern and no help. One screwdriver. Since I've begun to use the chair, I can get up after a couple of hours and walk across the floor to get coffee without a visible hitch. And surprisingly, while the pad is not as thick as that of a friend's chair that I've tried, my knees and shins seem to handle this chair better than the one with the thicker pad.The appearance is simple and black. (My friend's was a nice wooden chair). But it is very functional and a great value for the price. I would highly recommend this chair to anyone who needs to take some stress off the back or hips. And of course, shipping was prompt.

Kneeler
zlot  from NY,  Jul 6, 2009
I wanted to try one of these, and this was exactly what I expected. Easy to assemble. I would have liked a little more padding. I can't stay more than an hour or so, but I got it because I need to change positions in the office frequently - this is one of the alternatives. Economical and gets the job done. I'll know more whenever I try a similar one in the $400. range.

Kneeling Stool
100italian  from Silver Spring, MD,  Jun 18, 2009
My Husband and I put this together but we had some challenges. 2 of the chair screws had to be redrilled and 3 of the holes on the knee pad had to be widened because the screws wouldn't counter sink in because the finish around the holes was overpainted. Once we got past that it was smooth sailing. Chair is cool and really comfortable. Glad I bought it! I love that it rolls as well!

These ergonomic office seats are not for everyone. If you have never sat in one, do not buy without trying one out at a store. If you like the feel of this seating position, this is the best deal going... good value, good appearance, excellent price. I had some trouble putting it together, but I'm a bit challenged on that stuff and I doubt my experience is representative. It took me an hour! Like I said, I'm assembly-instruction-challenged. (It only has four parts! LOL!)

Product takes about 15-20 minutes to assemble, but well worth it! Even though there isn't a piece that is physically against your back, you sure have back support. Very comfortable, I gave my regular office chair the boot and only use this.

Very good
lucytarget  from Oregon,  Nov 22, 2008
Very happy with chair. I needed something to take the pressure off my back after back surgery. Great chair for a desk job 8-5! My knees get a little tired but I use that as a reminder to get up and stretch. It is great for building the core and makes you sit up straight. Very happy, and the cost cannot be beat. The same style chair sells for 300.00 in office furnature stores. Easy to assemble and great fabric.

easy on your back
hannibal1190  from Coral Springs, FL,  Oct 27, 2008
If sitting for any period of time bothers your back, then this is the chair for you. My back was sore, and I sat down in this chair for 15 minutes just to make my back feel better. It's just something about the design that's magical.

Bruised Shins
ouchie  from Madison, WI,  Oct 6, 2008
It was easy to assemble and does ease back pain, but increases shin pain. There is no way to adjust the height of the chair, so you're stuck in the position it assembles into, which puts all of your weight on your shins. It's awful. I used a chair like this years ago in an old job and unfortunately, I don't know who the manufacturer was. In comparison, I know that this chair is pretty awful.

This is the lowest price option for a kneeling chair online. You get what you pay for. The wood frame is a bit sketchy on durability. Only time will tell. The seat and knee rest can be recovered with a staple gun, so you'll eventually need to redo those parts because the padding isn't the best - it's already taking a beating with daily use after only 2 weeks. Assembly was easy and straightforward. It takes sitting on it to determine the right height. I haven't been able to successfully readjust it, though, since the initial setting (which could be a problem if more than one person uses it). For a home office, it's fine, but not durable enough for regular office use. I needed it because I have a bad back, and it has definitely eliminated the pain I had with regular office chairs. The size is fine for someone like me of small stature, but the instructions do have a weight limit of 200 lbs. For about 20 bucks more you can find other online sources that use a steel frame. I think if you're tight on cash, this is a great option, just don't expect it to be a high-quality item. If you're concerned about durability, consider paying the extra bucks for a steel frame. You'll be getting the same product with a bit more durability.

Already helps my back
stlgirl  from St. Louis, MO,  Aug 31, 2008
I bought this stool because of the good price on Overstock. Have looked at these for years thinking I would get relief from lower back pain after endless hours in front of the computer. Assembly directions a little unclear but only took about 30 minutes to assemble...and what a difference! My back felt better the first time I used it. Easy to switch out with an armed chair whenever you need.
