This is a good quality product that has been available for a few years. It should last for a long time. However , the removable plug system breaks easily and it is hard if not impossible to find a replacement. The perculators with a separate wired bottom tend to be more durable. Price was the same as available in a local department store and available for a single machine and no requirement to buy two. Personally, I like having a backup and when these things break you can be stuck with a Caffine Jones.
