Maxine Horowitz is the owner of Pearls Plus, a business that started several years ago. Its roots go back many more years to when she was a teenager and saw her mother, Skippy, always wearing unusual costume jewelry. Skippy had a flair for fashion and would use an earring for a scarf tie, or use a necklace as a belt. In those days, people were pretty conservative but whenever Skippy went out, she always got complements. Maxine was her older daughter and picked up Skippy's love of jewelry, and even in the years that gold chains were 'in' Maxine and Skippy were decked out in their costume best. Skippy has moved on to the 'great jewelry box in the sky' but her legacy lives on with Maxine sourcing pearl, gemstone, crystal and shell fine quality adornments and selling them at wholesale prices.
