Since 2nd grade, Carlene Atalig Mitchell, owner of JonCar Designs has had the entrepreneurial spirit, from selling lemonade and pencils to later opening a carnival game booth and several brick and mortar stores. With six boys to raise, she transitioned to mompreneur and created JonCar Designs in her living room with scattered toys and boys. She finds great joy in having many of her jewelry handcrafted in the homes of other women, providing them an alternative source of income.
I saw in the blog of the woman who designs and makes JonCar jewelry that reading reviews about her jewelry cheers her up and motivates her. I'm always interested in encouraging a fellow creative person whenever I can, so I want to thank her for these fun and funky earrings. When I started wanting to transition my writing from business-oriented to more creative, I started having earring dreams, and the earrings in the dreams grew gradually longer and wilder as I learned to let myself go. I didn't dream these particular earrings, but I appreciate them so much because of all those dreams. I love the detail on the cone-shaped ceramic bead, and the black jade beads on top and bottom really set it off. Very classy as well as fun! I have them on as I'm writing. They are light on my lobes, have nice movement and just a smidgen of sound as they move: the perfect combination. Hope to see more JonCar designs on Overstock soon. Thanks!
