I have used only a few of these to make a mat outside the garage door onto my lanai. They were easy to put together, and are a great dirt catcher. With two dogs and a sandy yard, there is still tracking into the house, but it's much less now. The rough surface of the lanai has kept the 3ft. by 4ft. section in place - no slipping around, which is great for safety. The surface is not slippery to walk on, either, even after a rain. I am planning to use the rest to make a shower "floor" for an outdoor shower, also on the lanai. I may order more as I come up with uses for them. I like them that much.
One suggestion - having some strips to finish the edges would make it look more completed. As it is, two sides look like I still have more to be added on.
How did the image on site compare with the actual product? Perfectly

Please tell us about the quality of the product. Sturdy, but wish there were pieces available for "finishing"
Installed this over my entire ~1800 sq/ft concrete in-ground pool deck. It stretches fence-to-house-to-pool edge (with some space for heat expansion) as one completely uniform floating floor. Made my pool edge cuts (complex curve) and fence cuts (straight) with a scroll saw. Covered the rough edge pool cuts with slit soaker hose and secured with small plastic tie wraps through the tile drainage holes.
1. Cheaper than stripping and resurfacing per my estimates
2. Really nice uniform look over a varied surface slope. Space looks larger. Drains are covered, but still work.
3. Easy DIY install/maintenance/replacement
4. Great Non-slip Surface, especially in rain.
5. Dirt/Mud stays under tiles away from feet until flushed to drains by rain or hose. (No mud tracking during pool use).
6. Cooler on the feet. Can get real hot here.
7. Easy to cut and shape.
1. Picking a starting row for a continuously connected install is critical to the look you will get and the amount and types of cuts you will need to make - take care planning it and trialing it before committing with cuts.
2. Heat expansion can cause initially unpredictable temporary binding leading to temporary buckling. Can solve this by finding binding locations on edges of completed install when hot and relieving pressure by trimming with an electric multi-tool.
3. Plan for scrap when ordering.
4. I found the edge trim that goes with this to be useless for my application (few of my boundaries were square)
I used these to replace a very old disgusting rug on a front porch. The look is very attractive and I'm very pleased. I am a 68 year old female and laid the majority of them by myself without any issues. However, broke my ankle the day I was going to complete, so probably won't finish until spring. I live in a cold climate, and any painted surface becomes very slippery with snow/ice - I think these will be a big improvement as far as a security issue walking on even in the winter time.
Overstock has hands down the best price for these block tiles, given the manufacture could price this product slightly lower. I recently covered my entire screen in patio and it took 6 box at 30 pieces per box to complete. It really stands out verse just painting, and that you would have to do as often as every year. I plan on doing my garage next in the gray rather than the brown I've used on my patio. It rained a few times since and within an hour the water drains or settles below making it a solid safety product.
Would these tiles be suitable to cover over a concrete basement floor? We worry about accidental flooding so the air and water flow aspect makes these tiles seem like a good option.lookingforoptions01 on Jan 8, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

1st. Is it easy to cut thru these tile if the size of the yard end up to be 5.8 instead of perfect 6 piece?
2nd patio has a lower point in the middle for drainage, how does it fit since it's rigid surface? do i have to put "sand" to even out? what's your recommendation?
3rd if so, will the sand and underlaying materials come out?
4th how much do i need for 11 x 28 ft patio?upbeatcorner on Aug 14, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hi upbeatcorner, we were able to verify this information with our support team. First of all the tiles are easy to cut with a utility knife. 2. We recommend to use a leveling compound so the drop on the drain is minimized. We do not recommend using sand. The tile has a grid underneath and it would sink into the sand. 11 x 28 requires 308 sq ft. That would require 11 boxes. Each box has 30 sq ft. We hope this helps. Thanks for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Aug 15, 2013

what is the difference between Ramp edges as far as with loops or without and when would you use each one? wanting to finish edges on roof deck?dizzyred on Aug 4, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello dizzyred, the looped or non looped edge refers to which side of the tile you are connecting to. The tiles each have a looped or a peg edge, You would need the non looped ramp edge for connecting to the looped edge of the tile, and the looped ramp edges would connect to the peg edge of the tile. In essence you would need both types of edges if you were finishing all 4 sides of this flooring. thank you for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on Aug 7, 2013
Hello joetown2621, we recommend using a jig saw other electric cutting device to cut these tiles. thank you for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on Aug 7, 2013
Will these tiles support the weight of large appliances? Can large appliances be easily moved over these tiles?2cadiyguygal on Jul 5, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Thank you for your question 2cadiyguygal. Yes, the BlockTile Deck and Patio Flooring Interlocking Perforated Tiles will support the weight of heavy appliances. However, heavy appliances should not be dragged on top of the tiles as they can scratch. If the appliance has wheels, it can simply be rolled over the tiles without any problems. Have a great day.overstockcustomercare1 on Jul 11, 2013
The dimensions for the tiles are: 12 x 12 x 0.5 inches, in answer to your question the tile is 1/2 thick.

What does the back of the tile look like? Do you have a picture? Does it lay directly on the floor or does it sit on small legs?kkinsc10 on May 14, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
I just took some pictures, but I don't see a space on this page to do an attachment, so I will try to find a way to add some to the feedback on the product description page on Overstock. I'll also try to add them to my original review, if possible.chariotofthedogs on May 14, 2013
I apologize, kkinsc10, but I cannot figure out how to add my pictures to this answer or to my review, and the system won't let me do another. Hopefully someone out there can help you out.chariotofthedogs on May 14, 2013
Thank you for contacting us mrsvlgriffin. These tiles cannot be used over gravel or stone. These tiles need a flat rigid surface for support. Please let us know if you have any further questions.overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 12, 2013
Thank you for your question and I apologize for the delayed response. These lovely tiles are designed for patio/deck flooring, so they have UV protection. With direct extended sunlight they can get warm, as with most patio furniture.overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 1, 2013
How are these tiles secured to a vinyl covered waterproof flooring material. The existing vinyl is in good condition, except that it is discolored; hence, the need to replace/cover it. Also, it would have to be cut to fit around existing railing posts. How easy is it to fit into that situation???dubjack on Mar 12, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
If the vinyl is smooth, I believe they'd slide too easily without some kind of gripper underneath. Mine is by the doorway on my lanai, which is textured, and even though I can move it with my foot, it stays in place when I walk on it. I can't imagine that cutting it would be a piece of cake, but it is a bit flexible, so a sturdy cutter (maybe wire snips?) might work. The loops that connect the tiles together would have to be removed too, if that bothered you. I left mine on in case I want to reconfigure mine.chariotofthedogs on May 14, 2013

Are these tiles easy to cut and trim? if so, what would be needed to cut them to fit?04bmw330i on Mar 3, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
These perforated tiles use a loop-to-peg interlocking system making them very easy to install. Installation is as simple as snapping the tiles together like a children's block set. The tiles interlock together by aligning the peg to the loop and pressing down with your fingers or a small rubber mallet. Making them easy to cut. Happy shopping with our everyday low prices. overstockcustomercare1 on Mar 6, 2013
How are the tiles secured to the surface? I am wondering if these would be appropriate to put down over painted wood floor on porch. Also, if aiming to do a pattern with two colors, could the 30 tiles ordered be a mix of 2 colors ( in one order )?lisamarie9 on Feb 23, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Thank you for your question. Yes, the Interlocking Perforated Patio Tiles (SKU 14982460) are installed without securing them to the subfloor. Yes, these tiles are often used to cover painted wood floors. Regarding the color options, each case comes with 30 tiles (30 sq. ft.) of a single color. So, if you are wanting to use two different colors, then you would need to purchase different colors.overstockcustomercare1 on Feb 27, 2013

The tiles can support the weight of your patio furniture. The mesh design allows full air and water flow. We designed them to be used on your patio flooring or deck flooring, so they come with UV protection for use in direct or partial sunlight. The tiles are also commonly used in residential garages.overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 7, 2013
