The handle works very smoothly, and goes up and down with ease. The case is roomy and there is extra padding for the laptop. I am very happy with the quality and value of this rolling laptop case. The only thing that could be improved is the reinforced fabric that is between the wheels, on the back of the case. From the picture, I thought this part of the case was covered in black plastic, but it is not. It is fabric (kind of like seat belt fabric). If you are pulling the case up any steps (as I am through a parking lot), just be careful not to drag the back of the case because the fabric will wear out quickly. I would definately purchase a CalPak laptop case again.

Love this laptop case with wheels. It holds not only my laptop, but clothes for an overnight stay. Has lots of storage space, good rolling wheels, good extendable handle, not too heavy, and stays in shape because the fabric is very sturdy. Looks more expensive than what I paid.

The Good: Very well-made case with tremendous attention to detail; even the interior fabric accordian is leather trimmed. The vertical orientation of this case makes it easy to roll down the narrowest aisle, and the quality of the workmanship is truly excellent. The interior padding is quite sufficient, and the overall size easily accomodates even my large laptop, a padfolio and some other small peripherals. The Bad: As mentioned in other reviews, the interior size of this case does not accomodate all the various peripherals I typically haul, including an extra LAN cable and a power supply. However, since the case is detachable from its wheeled frame, there is actually sufficient space between the case and the frame to accomodate these items. The Bottom line: Highly recommended for those looking for a well-made, durable case with far more flair than the average industrial-looking wheeled case. Since the case also comes with a shoulder strap, it converts easily and seamlessly to a very attractive shoulder case. I've been so impressed that I actually called my sister who has now also purchased one. By the way, the red color is more of a deep and quite lovely merlot.

I used this product an average of 2 -3 times a week when I worked in the office. I work on a large campus and I usually have to transport my laptop from the parking deck to my office and sometimes between buildings for meetings. I enjoyed this product for the first three months and then the fabric that separated two compartments came apart. Later, the bottom of the bag between the wheels began to unravel. I guess that came from it touching the ground as you were rolling it along. This product was useful to me for about six months, before I decided to go back to the shoulder bag that I use for my laptop. The search is on for my replacement rolling laptop bag.

Rolling briefcas is great size and capacity. Rollers sturdy and handle is a good length. Zipper seem sturdy although one has lost its pull tab. The only negative is the fabric. The leather is soft but not particularly attractive and has slightly bagan to show wear. All and all very functional case!

I have been eyeing these cases for a while. I am a frequent traveler, and I had a bulky black rectangular case that was difficult to roll down the aisle of planes and also tipped over all the time. I ordered the light blue or aqua color and the picture is very true to the color. The product seems very well made. The fabric inside the case is also pretty and everything looks high quality. The fact that you can detach from the rollers is a plus. I have had compliments from some of my co-workers, most of them men, so it must really stand out for them to notice :) I haven't traveled with it yet, but I am looking forward to traveling much easier now.

Well, for the brand name I had hopes of a better quality briefcase. I use it primarily to carry college textbooks and my 17" laptop on occasion. I need to note it's not made for a 17" laptop but it fits in the rear compartment. You just have to be careful abut bumps up over curbs. It did not have the typical inside zipper portion where the smaller laptop officially goes. The fabric began fraying soon after I bought it and I haven't really had it more than a few weeks. It's just a matter of a few more weeks of use before the seam opens on the bottom because it was not reinforced with a plastic overlay which the better cases have. The inside lining is cheap. If the bag had not been advertised as "deluxe", then I would not have minded so much, but the manufacturers apparently don't understand what "deluxe" is! The handle height is good and the wheels so far. I am glad that I purchased the extended warranty because it looks like it will get used within six months' time. Sad but true! No more Olympias for me!

It is interesting to see what others say about this bag... I would have rated it higher if the back wasn't weak causing it to buckle to a point where when I pull it the bottom drags the ground and has rug burn damage that has eaten the fabric off and I have had it for only a few weeks... I am a law student but expected the bag to be able to hold up and don't suspect that the case books are what make the bag buckle at the back and drag the ground. Otherwise I would say I really like the ability to roll my books around rather than carry them on my back. Maybe I should return the bag because I don't think it will last to Christmas in almost a month and a half.

I bought this bag because it was the only one I could find that was reasonably priced with a shoulder strap. It is roomy and well-designed but the zippers and fabric make me think that it will not be with me long term. For now, it is a good value.

This backpack is made of sturdy fabric and lasts a long time - very durable. Does not tip over with a heavy load of school books. Many compartments for all that is needed for school. This backpack should be lifted by the TOP FABRIC HANDLE when going up stairs as this retractable handle could get damaged if hit while going upstairs.

I love this bag! Rolls well, many pockets, decent looking. I agree it would be better lined in a light/reflective fabric so you could find things in all those handy pockets. All in all, excellent and great for my bad back.

I love this briefcase. I've traveled with it to multiple destinations in the three weeks since I bought it, and I've found that it's the little things that matter - like the size and organization of the compartments for ease of use as well as the flexible fabric that allows almost anything to fit. I can easily pack my laptop in a separate sleeve of its own in one of the compartments along with my charger, and then all other materials (newspaper, magazines, book) fit into the second large compartment without having to shove and cram to fit everything in. There's also a third zipper pouch on the front where you can keep pens, keys, and other smaller items as well, which I've found is best used as a "shortcut" compartment for the items most often used. My personal favorite - the extra zipper/slot on one side and mesh pocket on the other where I can keep my phone or iPod for easy access without having to dig through larger compartments to find them. I know all of these features seem like they would be a given, but with other travel bags I found myself trying to fit in everything and barely getting the zipper closed, and then having a hard time finding what I need later. That is not the case with this one - it is much more "user friendly". Overall, I highly recommend it!

I've been using this bag for about three weeks now and already the fabric trim is starting to fray. I'm afraid it won't last long, but given the price, I guess I shouldn't expect much. The handle and wheels work smoothly.

I ordered the black because the red was not available. The leather is beautiful. Polished but not brassy. What surprised me was the white stitching. It gives the briefcase a modern and youthful style. Very stylish yet the design is well thought out. I fly everyweek. I was anxious to see if it indeed can be rolled down the eisle and it does fit. The briefcase can be unzipped from the frame to be carried. There are times when I want to be holding a briefcase. Wheeling a briefcase works in an airport but not always in a conference room. The interior is lined with a high quality fabric. There are just enough pockets and sleeves. There are not so many that I jam it full with personal items. I could not be happier. Exceptional purchase!!!

I purchased this item to use for school as I need to carry my laptop and books and wanted something with wheels. I was disappointed with the lack of room when it arrived but when the fabric around the handle started ripping within 2 weeks, I am not very unhappy. I thought this was a sturdy bag considering the price, it is not worth it. Now trying to get it repaired/replaced thru CalPak but not looking promising as stitching is considered normal wear and tear! I am an adult and did not abuse this bag in any way, and have only used it for a 2 night a week class for 3 weeks! Stay away from a company that does not stand behind its products.

The main reason I returned the product was the bottom of the cart was covered in vinyl material. Rolling the bag over a few curbs and this would be torn up in no time. The bottom of the cart should have no fabric and just be a durable plastic designed for bumps and drags to help protect the leather bag. If i would have been able to see it was a vinyl covering the bottom in a clear online picture I would not have brought the item. Also, where the computer goes needs more cushion on the bottom. I decided to get a Briggs and Riley 15.4inch exec. expandable instead of this bag.

I bought this as a gift for a friend who has gone back to school. She isn't in the "backpack" crowd any longer and needed a "book and stuff" carry-all case. The four wheeled design works fabulously for her as she can manuver her stuff on any type of ground and up and down stairs on campus. It's flexible fabric accomodates the largest of books that she may have being a med student...and the extra compartments leave plenty of room for her "stuff". It's light weight but sturdy construction have served her well!!!

The backpack arrived quickly. The red one is beautiful. Handle is reasonably stable in use. Capacity is good. But my three girls, 11, 8 and 7 years old uses it five days a week, up and down cement curbs. The bottom tore from friction with the curb within three weeks. I think the only way to avoid this problem is to fit it with wider wheels. Wider wheel diameters would keep the bottom of the pack away from the ground on curbs. The quality and durability of the fabrics is very poor. f If your child only uses this pack on flat ground, it's fine.

Purchased this bag for a two week European trip -- mostly holiday but had to cart along computer, some files, books, etc. This replaced a backpack I'd been using. Performed like a champ. Tough ballistic fabric holds up and looks great. 4-Wheels design is sturdy and easy to push or roll along. Saved my back on looooooong hauls when I returned home (Bradley terminal at LAX) and to make connecting flights (Zurich, Switzerland where the walk was forever even with a train between terminals). Very easy to maneuver even with a second rolling suitcase/duffel. Easily meets airline carry-on requirements. Highly recommended. My computer backpack has been retired.

This bag has worked out wonderfully on both family trips & overnighters. We took it as a carry-on for all of our electronics, snacks, etc. on family trip and it made security at check-in a breeze and it fit easily under the seat on the plane. It also worked great for a quick overnight getaway. It fit our laptop, toiletries, and a change of clothes. The fabric, wheels, handle, etc. are all very high quality. I've seen retailers offer inferior products for much more money. We love this bag! **Note - the first bag we received had a defective handle, but Overstock.com sent us a replacement right away and since we didn't have to pay any shipping the whole experience was great!
