I use this backpack to carry heavy school books and laptop and lunch. Pockets expand nicely to accomodate all that stuff. In a pinch I can put the back pack on my shoulders instead of rolling it and I manage well. Only recommendation I would have is that there could be a few more smaller pockets in it. I just added pencil bags and life is good.

This rolling backpack 17" is a great size for elementary to junior high students. Additional pockets help to keep things organized. My ten year old loves the extendable handle and it is not uncomfortable to use it as a backpack as well. Rolls easily, wheels are sturdy and smooth. Zippers are fine so far. Adequate room for books and his lunch. It is currently three months old and seems to be holding up well on all fronts. Surprizingly light for a rolling backpack. I would recommend this for elementary students and for junior high students that dont have a ton of thick books to tote around. It does expand somewhat and will handle quite a bit of stuff.

I never check bags and when you travel internationally, size matters. becasue its a "backpack" you can get away with carrying it on or not haivng it wieghed. It also helps on smaller local jets compartment because it smooshes. I like that i have the option to throw it on my back if I am on cobblestone or use wheels when I am everywhere else. The expansion and front kickstand is nice too. My 1 complaint is the weight. Its a bit heavier then my current backpack suitcase which doesnt help me itnernationally when carry ons need to stay below a certain kilo, that's my only complaint. Everythign else is great.

I was skeptical about a rolling backpack since previusly ones did not last and did not accommodate all my papers. This backpack, however, is great. Has plenty of room for papers. files, brown bag lunch, water and, of course, my laptop. It rolls very easily and I have not had any problems with the wheels or handle. I recommend this to anyone tired of carrying a heavy backpack and needs lots of space.

I own an A.Saks rolling duffle and love it, so I was hoping this rolling backpack would be as good. It is. It's very roomy, light, and quite well-built. The laptop compartment is well-padded and seems large enough to comfortably hold a 17-in computer, although my largest one is just 15 in. The thing I like most about A. Saks bags is the material used. It seems nearly indestructable, yet looks attractive.

At first the bag seemed a bit large but it grows on you. The bag has a zipped area to expand if you plan to carry around more stuff. I am happy with all the compartments and the rugged design of the bag and wheels. It is tough enough to handle the wear and tear of an 8 year old! The bag doesn't make noise, the zippers are easy, the pockets and seam are well put together and the bag overall is very sturdy. The bag is also well balanced meaning that when you park it it doesn't fall over. It is easy to roll around and the extension bar is sturdy. The bag has straps tucked away so you can carry it as a backpack - but it so much easier to roll it around. Very happy with this bag!!!

I got this backpack to transport my books and laptop for my graduate degree program. It's great for hauling my heavy gear all over campus without straining my back. It comfortably stores my laptop and keeps it separated from my textbooks so I can access it quickly. The three storage compartments store my books, snacks, and personal items that I use throughout the day. There's even a ring that I can hook my keys onto so I don't have to search around for them when I need them. My favorite feature is the handle, which expands and retracts easily & quickly and is strong and sturdy. The wheels roll smoothly over carpeting, asphalt, and even the sidewalk as I walk around campus. There's also a thick, reinforced strap on the top of the bag that I can just grab when I need to lift it up over a curb or some steps. And it even converts to a backpack with padded, adjustable straps. I don't often wear it on my back because the wheels are so convenient, but it works great for when it's raining and I want the pack to stay under my umbrella so my computer won't get wet. When you're not using the straps they zip into their own compartment so they don't get in the way. I love this backpack, and I'm really glad I bought it. It's perfect for any student who's got a lot to carry.

I purchased this for travel out of the country - wanted something expandable and good for travel. This was designed for office/school use and not for travel.

I searched long and hard for a rolling computer bag to replace my former bag, a Travelpro, that I'd had for years and finally beat into submission. I picked this A. Saks bag because it is more narrow than my previous rolling bag (easier to get on & off planes), it is WAY lighter (this was important to me), it's large enough for my computer, files and clothes if I have an overnight stay somewhere (or 2 nights if I unzip the expansion section), and it can be used as a backpack, so I can easily manage 2 other rolling bags in addition to this bag if I'm on an extended trip. So far, this bag is fabulous. I'm amazed at how much lighter this bag is, but the fabric is tough. The wheels roll smoothly & quietly. The zips open wide so everything is easy to access. The number and locations of interior compartments and pockets are well thought out, with zips and velcro in all the right places, and there is a large padded pocket for the computer (with a velcro strap closure) inside the main compartment. The bag has a wide, sturdy strap on the top side with quick release buckles that can be used to add another bag or purse to wheel that along too. The only slight negative is that the extension handle sticks a bit when you pull it up or put it down, but I haven't met a bag yet where this mechanism operates completely smoothly. I love this bag, and it was a great price. I definitely made the best choice with this one.

Thought this backpack was not going to be large enough and it is actually very large. It expands and holds much more that the picture. It's perfect for my 6 year old to pack up about 4-5 days of clothes and extras yet manageable enough for her to handle moving on her own, which really helps when traveling. Very nice bag for the price.

It was exactly what I was looking for. Purchased for my 11 year old who tries to carry everything but the kitchen sink in his bookbag, so I was specifically looking for something expandable with wheels so he wouldn't hurt his back. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 is that he was disappointed in the "navy" blue color. In HIS opinion it looked black, not blue. it is a VERY dark navy color.

This looks like a very good quality bag. Lots of zippers and compartments and it expands if necessary. My main complaint is that the color is not grey as it shows in the picture, it's more of a green. A nice dark heather green, but not what I wanted. The bag cost more than I wanted to spend but it looked like it was worth it. If only the colors were as pictured...clearly gray and black.

This is my second purchase of a Western Pack, and I am satisfied with both the quality and durability. I use this pack for college and have several heavy textbooks for just one class, and I did not wish to sling a backpack over my shoulder. The Western Pack Bookmobile's wheels glide along nicely and the handle extends and contracts smoothly I have plenty of additional room with the backpack's expandable zipper as well as side netting for extra items as my water bottle and umbrella. Overall, I would recommend this product as it fits the needs of easier mobility and assistance.

I have been using it since Feb 2012 and has been perfect for carry on overhead in air travel. It has travelled several times across the world and it is great to travel with. It can be expanded and used as a overnight bag as well. I carry it daily to work in my overseas job and am often asked about it and where it can be purchased. It has a separate compartment for my laptop and if I ever fail to zip that section up and pick it up the laptop is secured in place safely. When used as a backpak the rear panel zips down, covers the wheels and since the inside of the back panel is protected when closed your clothes remain clean during use When used as a roll around it is well balanced. I have had many bags of this type and this A.Saks is by far my favorite. I have found the perfect bag for my use

The only issue I struggle with is the getting the handle to telescope....it is kind of sticky. Both pulling it out and putting it back in.
