Wonderful back pack! Engineered for a woman and has lightened the load of my heavy work laptop. Went through three other backpacks built for taller people (men) or had no thought towards actually carrying something heavy...thanks!Read More
I am pleased with my purchase. The side pocket fits a small water bottle. I do not own a hydration system but it accommodates it.Read More
I like this backpack, seems pretty sturdy. But I ordered the blue shown, which is turquoise, and it came in light purple. I have noticed people having this problem regardless of where they ordered it. Also, no yellow accent stripe. I will keep it, however, just a little disappointed.Read More

Outdoor Cooking Equipment Checklist for Hiking
Every pound counts when you are on a hiking trip, so you'll want outdoor cooking equipment that won't slow you down. When you go hiking, not all outdoor cooking equipment or outdoor grills will do the job. Although perfect for other camping situations, most outdoor gas grills won't work for hiking, and a dutch oven is completely out of the question for a backpacking trip. After a few miles, you'll probably regret packing just any old cooking gear you had on hand. When you go hiking, make sure to take camping cooking equipment designed with backpacking in mind. Here are a few items you shouldn't forget on your next backpacking trip.

When outdoor furniture is purchased new, care instructions are usually included. Over the years, these instructions have a tendency to get lost. Benefits of Using a Travel Backpack When Traveling
Travel backpacks offer a number of benefits for all types of travelers and may be an attractive alternative to larger tote bags, duffel bags and miniature suitcases. Whether you're traveling with a backpack over a long distance or traveling by plane with a small backpack as a carry-on, use a travel backpack designed with extra compartments and tight-fitting, portable style to ensure a comfortable travel experience. Easy to stow and store: The design of a travel backpack makes it easy to store it in overhead bins in a bus, train or airplane. The soft sides of a backpack let it conform to tight storage spaces. Many travel backpacks have compression straps that let you cinch the packs contents down to take up less space. Comfort: Travel backpacks put less strain on your body than most other kinds of luggage because their weight doesn't pull on one side of your body. Travel backpacks are designed to evenly distribute their load on your shoulders and hips, making them easy to carry for several hours. Thick straps with lots of padding make it even more comfortable. Keeps travelers organized: Many travel backpacks are designed with several compartments to store smaller items, such as water bottles, a cell phone, MP3 player, PDA, passport and subway tokens. This makes it easier to stay organized while traveling, ensuring that all your basic items and accessories are within easy reach. Easy to move around: Probably the biggest benefit of using a travel backpack is the ease of movement it provides. You don't have to worry about dragging a rolling suitcase up a flight of stairs. A travel backpack is also easier to maneuver through a crowd of people than most other types of luggage. Protects items from the elements: Many travel backpacks are made with water-resistant and waterproof fabrics that protect your valuables no matter what the weather forecast may look like. Travel backpacks made with polywick fabric, ballistic nylon and other weatherproofing materials are especially beneficial for travelers who will be outdoors for most of their trip. Tips on Shopping a Patio Furniture Clearance Sale
Patio furniture clearance sales typically occur at the end of the season. Patio furniture clearance sales are also common when outdoor furniture manufacturers create new products and styles. All varieties of patio furniture are often offered at clearance sales. Patio furniture clearance sales are the perfect time to purchase entire sets of patio furniture for the price of a few chairs or a single table.
How to Waterproof Fabric Outdoor Furniture
Most fabric outdoor furniture is water-resistant but not waterproof. Even patio furniture that is waterproof may lose its water-repelling qualities over time. To maintain your investment, fabric patio furniture should be waterproofed after cleaning or seasonally (in the spring and again in the fall, before it is stored for the winter). Not all waterproofing formulas are equal. For best results, choose a product that specifies it is for use on outdoor fabrics. And check the furniture manufacturer's instructions; using some products may harm the fabric and void your warranty, if you have one.

What to Pack for Africa's Highest Peak
Imagine that you are planning a trip that will take you from the equator to Antarctica in seven days. Now imagine that you have to limit the amount of gear you pack to 35 pounds or less. The task is getting more complicated. What kind of luggage would you choose and how would you pack for a trip that encompasses such extreme changes in climate and altitude? When Erica Davis, a paraplegic athlete, and Tara Butcher, a physically challenged athlete, climb Africa's highest peak, they will have to answer exactly those questions. The challenge: Mount Kilimanjaro rises from nearly sea level all the way up to 19,330 feet. The trail climbs from the hot bushland through rain forest, moorland, alpine desert and arctic glaciers up to the rocky Uhuru peak. A climb like Mt. Kili presents special challenges when it comes to luggage, clothing and gear. Being prepared for the weather and temperature extremes is a necessity, but it's also important not to pack too much. There is a 35-pound weight limit to each piece of luggage carried by a porter. Most climbers pack one 35-pound capacity bag to go up with a porter and one small daypack to carry up themselves. The daypack: Erica and Tara will have 7 days to summit Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro. As they pass from one ecological zone to the next, their needs will change and so will the contents of their daypacks. Each day Erica and Tara will repack their daypacks in anticipation of the specific challenges of the day's journey. In general, their daypacks will include things like water, snacks, dry clothing, waterproof gear and sunscreen. The importance of keeping clothing and gear dry cannot be overstated. When choosing a daypack, a small to medium backpack made of lightweight, moisture-resistant material that comes with a removable waterproof shell will be ideal. It's also helpful if the backpack has convenient access to a water bottle compartment or can accommodate a water bladder. Plenty of pockets, zipper compartments and hooks are also handy. What to pack: A sturdy but lightweight water-repellant duffel bag with a capacity of about 35 pounds is ideal for the trek to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The bag needs to have room for plenty of layers of breathable, moisture-wicking clothing and layers of fleece clothing, as well as a waterproof layer. To save space, it's a good idea to pack clothing that does double duty, such as pants that easily convert into shorts. Aside from clothing, the climb will also require accessories like sunglasses, hats and gloves, plus equipment like trekking poles and a headlamp, as well as toiletries like sunscreen, insect repellent and a first-aid kit. Support the Challenged Athletes Foundation: Overstock.com and the C.H.E.K Institute are co-sponsoring Erica and Tara's climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise awareness for athletes with physical challenges who wish to participate and compete in sports. Portions of the proceeds will benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). CAF raises funds to give physically challenged athletes the opportunity to stay active and competitive in the sports they love. To show your support for physically challenged athletes like Erica and Tara, donate now to the Challenged Athletes Foundation for the Fit 4 Kili Climb. How to Select Wicker Furniture
Wicker is a catchall word for furniture woven from a variety of plants, primarily bamboo, willow, rattan and reed. Many people select wicker chairs for their outdoor living space because the chairs can be treated to resist adverse weather. Also, because of their materials, wicker patio furniture appears much more natural outdoors than patio furniture made from synthetic products. Wicker chairs are also a popular choice indoors, particularly with Victorian or Oriental decor.
