I purchased this for my 4th Grader. Although it is perfect for older kids and adults. I love the material, it seems very tough and sturdy. He loves it. It is very large, which I had a hard time finding. It holds his large overstuffed canvas binder, lunch box, coat, and water bottle (this is the only thing I do not like about it, it has a zippered side compartment instead of a pocket to hold a water bottle) but it works fine. Very nice bag!

I am the type of person who researches each new purchase to death. After extensive backpack review, I selected the Olympia backpacks due to what appeared to be their durability and simplicity. I bought two and am extremely happy with the purchase. They are a great material that is so different from typical backpacks. They have huge storage areas and large zippers. The only negative is the color, but my husband who hates anything loud and glitzy though the colors were perfect. We are using these for a trip to India with our 18 month old. They will carry a lot of our day to day items along with her diapers, wipes and all that good baby stuff. We bought the brown and green backpacks. The colors look almost exactly alike. In a dark room, it is impossible to tell them apart. Over all, I would say we are very happy with the purchase....

These are some of the few canvas backpacks out there. They are huge and spacious with strong metal zippers. They are made with quality and will last for years. The straps are so comfortable it feels like your wearing your favorite jacket instead of your bag. I actually find they might have too many hidden pockets on the inside of the larger ones. There is no drink holder and the access for an m3p player is inaccurate, but with the amount of weight this bag holds, I can't imagine wanting it on your back while listening to your music anyway. The only real down side is the color choice.......I wish there were some blues offered. I travel internationally, and domestically about 10 times a year and I travel with only the backpack on my back. I loved this bag so much I bought 5 of them!

I am a Ph.D. student and I carry 7 to 10 books, a mini laptop, several notebooks and folders and the backpack handles it all very well. If you have several books you need to carry, this pack will serve you well.

I purchased this bag for school. When it arrived I was shocked at how heavy duty the zippers were and how well made the bag itself was. This bag is perfect for what I need it for. It's convenient pockets make it quick and easy to grab something small I might need when in a hurry, and it's big enough for my 17" laptop. Thanks Overstock!

OK SO FAR FIRST WEK BACK TO SCHOOL AFTER X-MAS BREAK. SON VERY HARD ON BACKPACKS. HE SAID SOMETHING ALREADY BENT ON IT, IN FIRST WEEKS USE.

Off all the backpacks I've used, this one actually feels well built. Metal zippers instead of plastic and a cotton fabric body rather than cheap nylon material, so it probably isn't water proof. But hey what is? Just don't leave it out side in the rain and it will be fine. Plenty of space and pockets for all my needs with two interior pockets inside that can zip closed as well. Hope it lasts for a long time.

Sturdy with lots of space for books and more, deep and have seen other similar backpacks for triple the cost. Just the right color for teenage son. Colors are unisex so, anyone would enjoy.

This back pack is great for a kid in school. My son is 11 & has to carry lots of books. This fits them all and it is very strong. Zippers are strong. I never got a cloth back pack before but I assume I can wash it. Hopefully it will last the remainder of the year! Totally nice though in Camo.

I purchased this for my college student, he has a ton of heavy books to carry around campus all day. He tells me it is very comfortable and is holding up very well.

I carry a backpack everywhere and this one has lots of room and the right number and spacing of pockets, but it's kind of dull looking and the zippers are really thick and clunky.

I was looking for a pack to use as a gym bag primarily (shoes, workout clothing, shampoo, etc.) so I wanted one with a large main compartment, and a couple of smaller compartments. This pack worked out very well for my intended purpose. There are three main zippered compartments (which can be seen in the photos), and one smaller zippered compartment on the lower side. Inside the main compartment there is a small zippered pouch for an MP3 player, and a larger zippered pouch that could hold 8.5"x11" documents. There is also a rubber grommet pass-through for the MP3 player headphone cord. There is no mesh water bottle pocket despite what the description states. The cotton fabric seems sturdy, however it is very soft and limp. I would have liked it to be a bit stiffer so that it would stand up on its own better, but overall it seems to be a functional, well-made pack.

Backpack was bought for a middleschooler to use for school. The fabric is very sturdy and the pockets are very spacious. The color is even more vivid than on the website. Very happy with purchase, I'm sure this will be use for years.
