I can describe the bag with one word - "fantastic". The fabric is quality and nice looking. I love the water bottle and umbrella net pockets on the sides. I have not used it yet but I can tell it will work great.

I love the color and the feel of the bag. For it's size, it holds quite a bit. I love the fact that the strap can be worn as a cross body bag or shortenedd to be an over the shoulder bag. My only complaint are the zippers.. I am going to try a bar of soap to see if they will zip more smoothly. Overall, it is beautiful and I am very happy with the product.

The bag was fabulous and suited all my needs. Attractive, light weight, and secure, with multiple compartments for ease of organization, and room enough for all items.

I bought this bag for my husband for Christmas. Although he hasn't seen it yet, I have. I opened it right away when it got here. I looks great. The only thing was that it looks more red than the picture. The online picture seemed more brownish-red. I love it but I hope it doesn't look too burgandy for my husband. The quality seems very nice and sturdy. Plenty of room for keeping things organized even with a lap top inside.Nice buy! If someone wants brown, they should concider the lighter brown unless Burgandy/red is what they are really looking for. It is still a beautiful bag.

Lovely bag. My husband is happy with this gift. It is roomy, well made and the quality of the leather is good too. He was looking for a bag which would stand upto daily use and this seems to be the one! He got it in the dark brown color and it is a lovely shade. Thanks O for good products at reasonable prices. Would recommend.

I love this messenger bag. The only thing I grew to dislike is that flap... I bought it because I love the look of the flap but it makes it difficult to get things in and out of the inside compartments. Otherwise... looks great and I love it!

Although the tag said tan it was clearly a brown bag, which is unfortunate. If you want a brown messenger bag, this will be great. all my other aston bags are tan, so I sent it back after a horrible experience trying to get the right color.

TRaveling internationally and wanted to feel that my belongings were secure. This bag has clasps to secure each zipper opening - very handy. Carried it as a messenger bag - pretty comfortable. Like the side zipper openings for carrying umbrellas and small water bottle. The bag is on the small side, but plenty big for carrying around all day. Has large capacity for its side.

I shopped a lot for a decent messenger-style leather bag to use as a briefcase. Unfortunately, I found mostly two types: (i) really nice bags that were extremely expensive ($300 and up); or (ii) affordable bags that couldn't hold more than one or two files (a.k.a. "man purses"). Neither was an option for me, so I took a chance on this bag and was very pleasantly surprised. Overall, I think it is an excellent value. The leather is soft, and the bag appears to be pretty well made. In retrospect, I would have opted for the darker brown instead of the lighter, but it is still a good looking bag.

I ordered this product about a year ago for work and school, and I've used it daily since then. It's held up extremely well to the beating I've put it through and the color has not faded from the leather ( I have the light brown version). The only knock I have is that the threading is beginning to become loose on the shoulder strap a bit, but nothing major or noticeable. Great buy for a leather messenger bag.

The bag is just as it looked on the website with exception of the texture. I ordered the brown for my brother who just graduated from law school. His 15" inch mac book pro fit perfectly. He finds wearing it across his chest is a touch too effeminate and like the other reviewers had said, this bag cannot be held by the middle handle. That leaves him precariously balancing the bag on one shoulder. Not great for travelling on foot for long distances. The bag is roomy band sturdy and is larger than most mens messengers. Getting back to the texture, the leather is very shiny and fake looking but it probably just needs to be worked in. The brown is not as rich as I assumed it would be. It is more of a tan. On the plus side the velcro closure is not loud and annoying.

My husband is a property manager and is continually traveling around the community. He has numerous sets of keys, sunglasses, reading glasses, cell phone......you get the drift. He's always looking around for something so I figured he really needed a "man purse". Problem being, he's a stunning 6'6" big guy so I really wanted to find something "un-girly". I was also concerned with size. I needed something big enough to hold his normal "stuff" but not so small as to be non-functional. This messenger bag is perfect. It holds everything nicely and is decidely very manly on him. The dark brown is very classy looking and the adjustable strap perfect for a "hands-free" option. The quality of the leather seems very good but of course only time will tell as far as wear and tear. In any event, for the price this seems to be the real deal.

I have always LOVED brown, leather messenger-style purses/bags. I REALLY liked the look of this one when I saw it on the website, & when it was delivered, it did NOT disappoint! Its just the right size--not too big, not too small. I've loaded mine down too with my sunglasses & wallet in the front pocket (I know the front pocket with its card slots is supposed to take the place of a wallet, but I like to carry one anyway), my cell phone, a pen, hair brush, small book, keys, & PDA case in the main pocket, with other small things like a compact, lipstick, small flashlight, etc. in the smaller zippered pockets--all with room left over! Even with all those things, I don't have to strain to squeeze something in, or pull something out. The great thing about this bag is I can carry all of my stuff easily & comfortably & it does not look overstuffed--that was a big problem for me with other purses/bags. All my stuff is EASILY accessible too--no fumbling around trying to find anything! This bag will also be great for traveling, as it can be worn over the shoulder like a purse, or very comfortably across the chest--it's actually a little more comfortable that way. I got the brown leather, & it seems to be of a very high quality--soft & pliable. This bag also stays upright when I set it down without tipping over. My only complaint--and it's a minor one--is the strap. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I don't mind so much that it's not leather, I just wish it weren't quite so wide. But this bag's other qualities far outshine that one minor issue. Bottom line: this bag's a DEFINITE winner & a GREAT value for Overstock's price. I absolutely recommend it! By the way, this same bag is currently being sold on at least one other popular online retail site for about $20 more.

As a Cornell student, I needed a stylish, but very practical and comfortable backpack. My North Face "hiking"-like backpack was getting old. Cornell is very rainy, wet, can be super cold, and there's a LOT of walking involved if you go to class, but this bag allows me to be comfortable, and I'm sure it'll last a long long time! I never usually write reviews, but I am very pleased with this bag, and so will you! I was a little worried at first that the bag was going to be too small to fit my daily books for class (including my 13" laptop, and 2-3 thick notebooks), but I am very happy with the results! This bag can fit all that and more! I could even shove my water bottle in the gap if you put your stuff "portrait-style" into the bag. Sizing was very accurate- looks square-like... not rectangular like other ones (that way it's the perfect size!). This way I can fit my laptop (13") snuggly in either direction. Also, there are many pockets that I was pleased to see as well. Just the right amount for me. The bag has a very nice leather smell to it and the first day I used it, it was raining. The leather is so nice because it is very waterproof! I just wipe off the water when i get inside and the bag looks like new! As for storage, the main compartment is very roomy, as stated above, with an internal zip pocket for small things, then on the opposite inside, there are 2 open pockets that look like you can put smaller novels into, or even a small tablet. (about 5" wide). I originally thought that this was a laptop sleeve by the picture online, but I wasn't too disappointed, as my laptop has a hardcase. Then, still under the main flap, there is a zipped compartment that stores pencils, pens, and a little pocket for my iClicker/ calculator! Keeps everything organized. There is even a magnetic closure envelope pocket on the back of the bag with a little zipper pocket within that! Also, two small external pockets on the sides of the bag for your phone/ ipod, and in the other one, I can even fit my slim umbrella! There's really nothing negative about this bag, and it looks so good with my leather boots and my style. As a girl, I wanted a backpack that would be functional and stylish, and this definitely fits the bill, and so cheap! I got it when it was **, and now it's even cheaper, wow! Definitely high quality, I love it! I would probably get the dark brown one, too, if I ever wore anything that color ;) Bottom line- if you're searching for a leather messenger bag for work, travel, and heavy loads at school (like me), look no further, because I've definitely hit the jackpot and couldn't be happier! The black leather looks so sleek and stylish, for men or women, you will love this bag.

The leather is not smooth on the brown bag. It was grainy and it has white visible stitching.

It is what I expected, based on the photos. It looks nice and although I haven't used it much yet, it seems very durable. I would have preferred to get the dark brown. However, when I ordered the item, that wasn't an option. The brown looks exactly like the brown in the photo and still is nice. If you want a bag that looks old fashioned and casual, this is for you. It is quite unique.

The bag is fantastic, it is large enough to store a laptop and a some books, and many other things, a perfect bag for a college student like myself. The only thing I have to be weary of is that the brown bag is a lot more tan and lighter brown than it looks in the photo. But overall, great bag!
