This bag seemed nice, it just was too small for my son to use for high school. Thankfully, most professionals don't have to carry around as many books as he does, so it is probably good for the more mature buyer, rather than high school/college students.

I love these cases. I bought two, they are exactly what I expected, well made, sturdy, light, strong zippers. I would definitely recommend them.

The bag had plenty of room and pockets which is what I was looking for. The price was better than any that I had found

Sizing was confusing-it's an 18" Messenger Bag but won't fit an 18" laptop computer.

It is good messenger bag that I want to purchase. The shoulder pad is good size for me. Easy, light for daily use

This messenger bag is exactly as described. I can fit my laptop and several folders in it and still have room. The padding on the should strap is able to be moved for increased comfort. The quality is great. I can see this bag lasting for a while. My primary use for this bag is going to be for school and I think it will be perfect for toting around my laptop and assignments for my classes.

I had a Messenger bag that simply was to full and became too heavy to carry my folders of paper, books, clipboards, art intruments, etc. This bag is excellent. It is lightweight. The shoulder strap is ergonomically designed for masimum support with minimum pinching; the zippered compartments expand well to fit larger items; It is ideally compartmentalized for my varius writing/drawing instruments, CDs, DVDs, I can even fir my laptop in one of the compartments!

This is the 2nd bag I have bought, after 5 years with the first one; it was time to get another one. The first one went from vehicle to work to home in 36 of the US States. It was exposed to extreme cold, dust and heat; in addition to snow and rain. As a traveling medical professional, I need everything from cell phones, IPod’s, pens and pencils, scissors and hemostats and sometimes a laptop to perform from job efficiently. I have never had a problem with my first CalPak Negotiator 16-inch Messenger Briefcase and now I have my new one. If you want something that has multiple pockets, is expandable and dependable for a descent price, this is the one.

I could not fit my lap top which only measures 16.5 inches. The way it expands the top in stays narrow only the bottom expands not much use. I sent it back.

This is my first Calpak item. I wasnt sure by the pictures if it had many pockets but when i got it today i saw there were PLENTY of pockets. The one i picked was navy. Online from my pc it looked blue more than navy but i did'nt read any reveiws talking about a deceptive color, it truly is as described. As a student I have a ton of books which is quite heavy and this messenger bag fits them all in. I havent had it long enough to give it five stars, i'll have to see how it holds up.

I like that this laptop bag is smaller, thinner, and lighter than average, giving you something to carry your laptop in without being heavy or cumbersome. I like the colors and the unique styling, and the over the shoulder messenger strap. My 17" Toshiba laptop fits fine in this bag. The interior compartment is large enough for me to slip in the 17" laptop, but it doesn't fit within the internal sleeve in that pocket, which would offer more protection for a smaller laptop. It feels like my laptop is well protected and secure in this bag. There's also plenty of room for my charger cord, external mouse, USB stick, and some misc pens and papers in the additional pockets. I recently traveled across the country with this bag and it went through airport security fine, although I did remove the laptop from the bag first. I think this bag is a really good value and I'm happy with this purchase.

UPS delivered my 18” messenger bag today…… was so excited to try my Dell Inspiron 17.3” Lap Top in the bag. First & only negative comment: ‘Padded Lap Top Compartment’ inside bag DID NOT fit my 17.3” Lap Top. Was way too small….however, it did fit an old Toshiba 12” Lap Top (2 & ¼ “ thick). On a positive note: The compartment next to (padded compartment) & inside the bag DID accommodate the 17.3” Lap Top quite nicely. The bag is well padded so I feel comfortable as to where my Lap Top will sit. So, all in all…..my main concern was that I could travel with my 17.3” Lap Top anywhere. Trust me…..I’ve researched high & low for an attractive, sturdy but economical bag. ….and they were far & between! This bag fit the bill.... I love that it has many pockets for accessories such as pens, pencils, notebooks, & plug-ins for Lap Top. In addition, it has many zippered pockets on the outside for additional papers & such! The padded shoulder strap is nice to just throw over your shoulder when your hands are full. Now you know ‘the rest of the story’ this bag WILL accommodate a large Lap Top. Am looking forward to having my personal Lap Top with me when traveling! Oh…did I mention? ‘Olive’ color is just beautiful!

I initially was worried about buying something online without being able to see it, but thought I could always return it. I looked at alot of local stores and just couldn't find something small like this... usually just the much larger traditional messenger bags. I was very happy when I received it. I purchased the black leather. The leather is very nice quality, the craftsmanship is great.. stitching is very good and made of all around quality materials...nothing cheap looking about it... (I was scared of that cheap vinyl look) I also was worried it might be a bit too girly, but it isn't. The thick, durable shoulder strap is comfortable and adjustable and hangs just right for over the should wear. The clasp is easy to open for easy access, no silly straps or latches to fumble with. It has a very slim profile if you aren't carrying alot, but expands to 5 or so inches deep if you need to carry alot. Multiple pockets are great for seperating items and it has a convenient cell phone pocket. The zipper pocket on the backside is great for stuff I need to have with me, like my checkbook, but don't really use that often. There are a few slots in the front pocket for credit cards and I've completely stopped using my wallet (though there is limited room for about 4 cards.. perfect for me but maybe not for everyone... but you can always throw you wallet right inside the bag anyways for those 'extra' cards you need. I bought this originally because I was going on vacation and knew I'd have to lug around a camera, but didn't really want to carry a camera bag... the digicam fit right in the pocket along with water bottles and alot of small things I bought as souvineers. I love it. Overall, I think it's a great value for the money especially when compared to much more expensive 'designer brand' bags.

This did NOT fit my 17.3" laptop. Nothing is wrong with the bag, I like that it expands. It will work well for my 15" laptop. I am disappointed that it is advertised as being able to fit an 18" laptop and does not.

Packing for a cruise is not quite the same as packing for a hotel stay. While you may spend seven days on a cruise and need the same amount of clothing as you would need for a land-based vacation, you simply cannot pack for a cruise in the same way as you would for a trip to the mountains or beach. The reason for this is that the average cruise ship cabin is going to have about half the square footage as the average hotel room. Your luggage choice needs to reflect this confined space.
