I have been looking for another backpack purse for some time, and this bag fits the bill. The leather is soft and supple. The pocket on the back fits my 7" tablet perfectly. There is plenty of room in the main compartment for my large checkbook/wallet and more.

This is a well made backpack that I use as a pocketbook. The many outside pockets are very useful.

I spent HOURS online last weekend looking for a combination purse/backpack that is stylish, professional and sturdy enough to take to meetings and use for business travel, casual enough to use personally, comfortable to slide on and off but able to be carried by a hand strap, can hold a PC and expand as needed to carry work files, electronics accessories, beverages, snacks, even lunch when needed., has easy access exterior pockets for keys, ID, pens, notes, several interior compartments for combs, cosmetics, contact lens cases, comes with attractive, strong and practical hardware, is finely made of good quality leather and is reasonably compact and light. WHEW -- I finally found it online at Overstock after coming back to read the excellent reviews several times The name put me off at first because Amerileather sounded to me like some type of composite, cheap leather-like material -- but the leather is strong, supple and attractive. Also, the price is so reasonable for the quality! I ...

  • Leather Good, Lining Bad

I received this item maybe 2 weeks ago and the lining in the inside zippered pocket has broken already. Still I would recommend the bag because the leather is good quality for the price of the bag. You'll just have to rummage between the leather and the lining to find your small items and I can live with that for the price. Will try to get a more sturdy material sewn into that pocket. I was keeping lipsticks, a pen, eye drops and small hand sanitizer bottle in there. Maybe that was just too much stuff. The only other thing I wish were a little different is when you wear it as a shoulder bag there is no way to adjust the length of the strap. That makes me mostly use it as a knapsack, which is the primary reason I bought it anyway.

This item was $$$ and in two shorts weeks of using it, the metal clip wasn't substantial enough to keep the strap in place!! The strap kept breaking and she was unable to use it.
