I did the investigating and narrowed my picks down to a few for my 8 year old son to choose from, and because he chose it himself, it made it even more fun as we opened the box when it arrived :).The bag is of great quality, and the rubber bottom is very practical, and kid friendly, ready for the abuse it's going to take. The color in the picture is accurate, it's a teal blue with gray. The handle is sturdy and the light up wheels are super cool, the faster you move the bag, the more it lights. The material looks very durable and the bag is set up in a practical way to get the most space used.However, I have only 2 issues with the bag (and hopefully Overstock will change the listing after reading this review):1. It's weighs about 5 or so lbs. The weight isn't included in the description on overstock and it would be super helpful if it was. My concern is that when his books are in there, he might have a hard time carrying it up the bus steps.2. The back straps don't have anything to conceal them and hang when you drag the bag. I'm concerned that they might get ruined or wet when transporting it and then make the option of using them out of the question.Overall, it's a wonderful backpack. We'll see how it holds up - the pricing was very fair as well. If there was a choice to give it 4 1/2 stars I would've.Thanks!The only issue

My three boys are extremly tough on school bags! I researched bags for several hours and finally found this one. This school bag lasted my son all year and never broke, tore or even has a scratch on it! The kids love it because the wheels light up! I am purchasing three more of these for next school year!

My son hasn't used his backpack yet because I purchased it for this 2009-2010 school year and school hasn't started yet...but I think that it beats the rest of the wheeled backpacks out there because the whole bottom is rubberized!! The usual wheeled backpacks start to scuff and rip midway through the school year.The handle glides up very smoothly and it has a GREAT color and my son thought it was the "coolest" that the wheels light up.

We had to return the first order, because one of the wheels was not lighted. The customer service was good, the replacement was sent fairly quick. My 9 year-old daughter is very happy with the wheels and the color is great. It's been one week of the use, and so far no problems with the wheels. The handle doesn't feel sturdy enoguh, but overall, I think the product is good.

I bought this rolling backpack for my 7 1/2 year old son for his first day of school. He is not particularly hard on things. While the main bag seems sturdy enough the wheels (the whole point of purchasing this item) are sub-par and snapped off after only 5 days of use. He was rolling it on smooth school floors to and from class and just a few feet from the car to the bus on the road. He did not overload it with stuff. He did not sit on it or have any friends sit on it. He did not do wheelies on it or use it as a club to hit his friends or sister or brother. He just used it normally -- as a rolling backpack. The light up wheels were cool and he was very excited to have this bag. Now he is very disappointed. He has had to go back to using his sister's old rolling suitcase until I get him a new rolling backpack. I might have understood if the wheels broke after several months of use (although I still would not be thrilled). However it is totally unacceptable for them to break after only 5 days of use. You can be sure I will not be buying anything made by J world again. Save yourself time and money and hassle and do not buy this item.

7 Year old grandson loved it. I sent it to school the first few weeks then switched to a light weight one due to the weight of the bag and his contents each day. Will save it for traveling. LOVE the rolling aspect. Backpack straps now have a place to fold away. Locally had his initials put on. Great product for the price.

This cute little backpack arrived dirty twice (after returning it due to that problem, another was sent out with the same dust spots as the previous). After deciding to clean it ourselves, since it was what my daughter had chosen, the backpack lasted only the half the school year. By January, only one of the wheels was lighting up and the top of the bag (where an accessory handle is located) had ripped, leaving only the back straps for carrying. I was truly dissatisfied with this product, especially because my daughter is typically not hard on any of her toys, back packs, books or anything else. Not good vale for the price.

The bookbag is great - except the wheels stick from time to time. If the bookbag isn't weighted down, the wheels will not turn therefore, there is no lighting. The lighting was a very important feature for my 7 year old!!

It is a bright sky blue color as shown in the picture, very handsome for my 9 year old boy. It has been almost a month since I got him the backpack and he is loving it. It is pretty roomy to hold all his school supplies and a few extra toys he like to bring to school. It has been standing up well against the rough handling, rolling on sidewalk, rolling up and down stairs. As the bottom is rubber, I think it will last a long time. Will highly recommend to school kids.

This backpack has held up so far, but it's fairly new. It is heavier than i had hoped, so a little difficult to lug up the school stairs. but my 9 year old is happy with it.

This backpack is fantastic. My 6-year old daughter got a number of Christmas presents, but this was by far her favorite. The backpack is extremely well made and should stand up to the abuse of an elementary school kid. The multi-colored lighting wheels are really cool and sets it apart from other backpacks. The handle adjusts to multiple heights which makes it easy for both me and my daughter to pull. As somebody else mentioned, the water-bottle holders are too small to take a standard bottle, but I view this as a trivial thing. There is plenty of room in the backpack to put the water bottle inside, and there are a number of loops on the back to attach a bottle with a hook.

This is the second backpack I have purchased like this. The first was for my daughter this one was for my son. My son is notoriously hard on backpacks and I think this one will stand the test of time with it's rubber bottom! The lighted wheels are oooh so cool. Love the large openings to see items in the pack. These are our all time favorite backpacks!!!

I have recently received this backpack, and I must say it is worth the cost. My son frequently must carry heavy textbooks home, and the durable structure of the backpack is strong enough to hold up to 3 of these. The rubber bottom of the backpack prevents the backpack from being damaged, and the spunky light up wheels are cool, too. I also love the mesh pocket, which is useful for holding miscellaneous small items, like metrocards or drum keys, small books, etc. Five stars, excellent!

This backpack is well made and fits the bill for what we were looking for. The adjustable handle height is nice, as it is comfortable for my daughter, me, or my husband to pull. My daughter is in third grade and takes a lot of books, lunches, etc. back and forth to school each day. While I am very satisfied with the backpack and its performance (especially like the padding on the back -- comfortable enough to use the backpack as needed), my daughter is not completely happy. Only one of the wheels functions properly with the "lightening". Overall, I think it's a great product and would gladly purchase another (though without the promise of lightening wheels!).

I ordered this backpack for my 10 year-old son to use for school and he loves it! He loves the color and the lightening wheels. It has good pockets for pencil storage and the handle is comfortable for him to use. The silver parts on it are reflective, which is a bonus. I didn't expect that feature. I wish the material was a little more substantial, but it is still good enough quality for it to last the school year.I definitely recommend this backpack.

My daughter (and many of her classmates) loves this backpack. The heavy duty rubberized base, cool light-up wheels, extending pull handle, and roomy interior have (so far) made it the most popular new backpack and I'm guessing that this might be the most durable backpack as well. Nothing but good things to say now and I really believe we will still be this pleased at the end of the school year....

I purchased this rolling bag because I am a teacher and see first hand what happens to the inexpensive versions. I thought that this bag, being rugged, would hold up well. My son is in kindergarten and does not have much to put in the bag. However, with one folder and a lunch box in it, it no longer remains upright! In addition, the ends of the handle have a ready fallen off (within the first week). The interior fabric is VERY flimsy and I don't expect it to survive the onslaught of text books. Finally, one of the wheels is bent. While it still rolls, it doesn't roll straight. Bottom line: don't buy this roller. Spend the money on a brand name, well-reknowned version that will stand the test of time!

I ordered the blue rolling backpack for my daughter; she's in 4th grade and has lots of very heavy text books. We immediately switched her previous backpack to this one, and we've both been very happy with it. It is very sturdy but at the same time very easy to both pull and carry in/out of the trunk of my car. My daughter is really happy she chose that particular model, and she particularly loves the lightning wheels. We looked through many catalogs and we bought at least 5 other backpacks for this school year, but not one of those backpacks was easy for her to manage and carry all of her school work. This backpack is not only light and easy to maneuver, but it's also very roomy and all of my daughter's books and projects fit in it perfectly. I highly recommend it to other parents.I rate it 5 stars because nothing has gone wrong with it to date; it's been about a month that's she's been using it daily and for the other backpacks it only took a week of usage to be put aside.
