eco trade-off
 from Clovis,CA,  Jul 6, 2009

The travel set held up well on it's first trip. The construction details are sloppy (seams off and threads sticking out). There is no padding on inside, so I am glad I only intend to use the rolling piece as a carry-on. Overall, I guess this will do for an environmentally conscious purchase.

I look forward to putting this luggage to a test in a couple of weeks, but am very pleased with it--construction looks good as well as the appearance. Feel that I can easily get everything I need for my 6-day trip in the 21" roller/carry-on and the tote. The tote is larger than I thought which is a bonus. Am feeling this was a good buy.

Eco is the way to go
from Longview, TX,  Oct 2, 2008

I like the simple design of this luggage set. At first I was a little concerned about the quality. If any of you have the same concern. I can tell you this is very durable. This luggage set has more features than my old luggage set. I like that this set is eco friendly and that this is expandable, which is always a problem for me, since it allows me to back home more things that I wanted. I'm thinking to get one more set for my sister in law. I think she will love it.

Large carry on
 from GA,  Oct 12, 2010

This is a really big carry on. We bought is because my son liked that it was made out of hemp and recycled materials. Also, we no longer check our bags so this is big enough. One thing, though, I would next time buy a travel bag that actually attaches to the handle of the rolling bag. The satchel that it comes with doesn't zip up so stuff falls out if you're not careful. Very durable, however.

cute luggage
from ann arbor, mi,  May 26, 2010

My old carryon luggage was getting old and beaten up after ten or so years, so I was looking for an inexpensive, different looking luggage to carry on trips. This luggage is pretty basic, not as detailed as some other suitcases I've owned, but it does the job.

Great so far!
 Apr 22, 2010

This has flown over the Atlantic and been dragged all over Athens with no problems. It met the international carry-on regulations, but it had to be checked on a domestic flight. The accompanying tote bag came in handy then: I put my book and laptop inside and checked the main bag. I have been very happy with this purchase!

not bad for eco conscious
from Brandon, Ms,  Mar 25, 2010

The suitcase is pretty, but I haven't traveled with it yet. It does have some lose threads around the seams. The smaller bag is not much bigger than a purse and has no way to close it, so I am not too sure about it's usefulness as a carry-on.

Nice carry-on
 from LA,  Mar 10, 2010

No hang ups even in the overhead bin on the puddle jumper. Seems durable, but we have only had one journey together. Handle is high enough for me at 5' 9". I love the folio pocket.

quite disappointing
from Los Angeles,  Mar 3, 2010

For me the main problem in this product is that the small hand bag doesn't have interior lining and zipper and is very rustic, crude inside.

Awesome
from West Jordan, UT,  Feb 15, 2010

My luggage just arrived today and when I pulled it out of the box it looked a little bigger then i was expecting. Its the right size but when I opened it up I could tell why. The inside is soo deep that its almost like having a larger suitcase. I cant wait to use this for my trip to california. The only thing that I kinda dont like is at the bottom is a zipper and when you un zip that there is the actual suit case. But i dont see having in problems with it. It feels very durrable. The bag that it came with was also bigger then I expected. If you want a suitcase that over exceeds your expectations. This one is for you.

Pleased with purchase
from Huntsville, AL,  Feb 11, 2010

Very please with the construction of the luggage set. The suitcase capacity is larger than expected. More than enough room for a 3 - 4 day trip. Inside and outside pockets are very roomy. The tote is smaller than I anticipated. This is my only disappointment with the purchase. Overall, I am very pleased and would recommend the luggage set to family and friends.

I like the look and feel of this luggage the the fact that it is made of hemp. I used this on a train trip and it functioned well. The outer construction of both bags is solid and feels good. However, even though I have yet to use the internal straps the stitching is unraveling around the holes the straps thread through to clip. As I don't really feel the need to use these anyway I don't anticipate sending this luggage back, but if it gets worse on my next trip I might. I love the padded handles on the roller bag and the tote bag is roomy and convenient to carry. I only wish the tote bag had a zipper to close. The picture makes it look like it closes at the top but it does not.

great money saver
 from Dayton,Ohio,  Jul 1, 2009

The luggage was great and the color too. The fact that it's from recycled products was really appealing to me. I recommended the luggage to a friend who went ahead and ordered it after seeing mine.can't wait to use it in a few weeks when i will be travelling out of town :)

Happy with my purchase
from Tucker, Georgia,  Apr 22, 2009

I decided to get a roller bag so I wouldn't have to check my luggage and pay an additional $15.00. I like all of the pocket features and the expandable zipper. The interior of the bag is deep and it has straps to secure your belongings. The hemp fabric appears to be durable and it is easy to clean. I have had one minor mishap. The corner of the bag was caught against a metal divider of the plane's luggage containers and ripped the corner of my luggage. The tear does not appear to be getting bigger which I am happy about. I am pleased with this purchase and would purchase this type of bag again.

STURDY HEMP SUITCASE - CARRYON
 from Wisconsin,  Mar 28, 2009

I've only traveled with this piece of luggage once so far, but it seems very durable. I love the color and it fits perfectly in the overhead airplane compartment. Easy to wheel around.

Great for the eco-professional
 from VT,  Jan 8, 2009

I work in the environmental field, and for many years have used a sport-duffel or backpack for travels. But, for business travel, I was ready for a more professional look. Then, the recent change in airline charges for checked luggage made me think it's about time to upgrade to wheels. This set has a quasi-professional look (good for my field). It looks eco-funky in its khaki green and brown colors, but toned down enough to look good. It looks fairly well made. I'll be looking forward to trying it on my next trip.

Have yet to use but...
from DC Area,  Dec 24, 2008

This suitcase seems very sturdy and the color is different so it'll be easily recognized. I like that it is a more eco friendly bag, and the tote that comes along with it is rather handy. I was looking for something with a durable wheel assembly and this seems to fit the bill rather well. Can't wait to use it for my trip to VEGAS next spring!!

Responsible Choice
 from Florida,  Sep 6, 2008

The design and look are simple and unisex, and made a statement about your personal choices. It is obviously a natural fabric product, visually, except for the plastic corner protectors. The cotton lining on the inside is thin, but the hemp outside is rugged and appears to be as durable as nylon would be, and much easier to clean. Nylon tends to get permanent black marks. I haven't used it in travel but it has all the basic features you need, and the additional matching tote is a nice bonus. I wish Overstock would create a tab for all their "green" choices; I don't go through a lot of trouble to seek out those types of products but will go that route if it is an option...and the prices here rock!
