This bag would be excellent if the straps would stay clasped. Imagine standing up on public transportation and your bag falls to the floor, the straps are un-done again. I would not recommend this product.

I use the bag to take my office papers as well as a small lunch bag to work. After about 2 months, I noticed that the threads on the shoulder strap at the hinges is starting to come apart so it's only a matter of time when I'll probably lose the straps altogether. Also, I noticed that the bag was listed wider than it truly is. Even with the expansion zipper at the bottom and sides in open position, it doesn't add up to the dimensions that the seller claims. I guess you get what you pay for. Spend a little more and get a bag that's more sturdy and more true to dimensions.
How accurate was the sizing? The bag was listed as wider than it TRULY is. Short by about 2 inches.
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Poor. Threads are already starting to come apart on the straps due to weight.
Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? Don't know. Didn't really examine it that closely.
I did not use this as a laptop bag. After being seriously disappointed with many overpriced diaper bags costing $50-$80, I bought this to use as my 8 month-old's daily diaper/daycare bag. Expanded, this has plenty of room for 2 crib sheets, a light and heavy blanket, 3 changes of clothes plus accessories (hat, shoes, bibs, burp clothes) and 3 days worth of diapers and diapering essentials (wipes, diaper cream etc). I recommend the bag whatever your need!

I bought this bag, not really expecting much for the price. When I received the bag, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. It seems to be very good quality and has already suffered some hard use. It is not showing any signs of wear. The bag fits my laptop and reading materials with plenty of room. The only negative issue I have is that there is not a good place to put my computer accessories. The interior pockets are not the right size for my laptop power pack. I would still recommend this to anyone needing a good quality bag that is not very expensive.
Nice product for the money. Has all the pockets I was looking for. Strap works well. One minor issue is that the leather wrap on the handle. Seems to be synthetic leather and has a "cheap" feal to it. Otherwise, I am very happy with the product.
This bag is well made and sturdy....survived over-stuffing and being dragged through airports, etc. However....the metal clasps on the straps kept coming undone...my bag would fall to the floor. This was inconvenient, and a bit scary, security-wise. On my return home, I replaced the straps with more secure ones.
I chose this bag because I believed that CalPak was a pretty reliable brand, and I needed something for light duty carrying. The shoulder strap broke within 2 hours of first use. I could not have been more disappointed in the performance of this bag. I ended up using the strap off a retired computer case and attached it to the bag.
I see the overall depth of this briefcase is 6 inches but what is the depth of the largest (main) compartment of this briefcase? I am hoping it is most if not all of the 6 inches (when expanded) because I am considering buying it to carry the following: medium Thermos, iPad, 1 magazine, 1 large paperback, 1 small tupperware container, 1 apple, 1 small zippered pouch (cables, A/C adpators), iPhone and a few more items. ( I can put some of these things in the separate pockets but still would like to know the depth of the main section.stevemass on Apr 7, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello stevemass, The main compartment of this briefcase does take up the bulk of the six inches. Since this bag is soft-sided, it is capable of expanding more than the 6 inches, so you should have plenty of room for your things. I hope this information helps. Hi, how large is the main compartment? There is no picture and I am looking for a bag with one big compartment rather than several small ones. Also, does the back of the bag have a pocket large enough to fit a newspaper, as it appears in the picture?michaelf84 on Sep 5, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
