This sling backpack is extremely well made, particularly at this price, and the design makes it very comfortable to carry a laptop and several books, as well as a wallet, pens, etc. I especially like the pocket for the cell phone on the strap, which makes the phone easily accessible while you're walking. It is very well padded. The adjustments in the strap make it easy to arrange the main weight so that it rests in the small of the back. The main problem for me is that I have a MacBook Pro, which has a 15-in screen, and the laptop sleeve inside the main compartment is sewn to accommodate a 13-in or smaller machine. After several attempts to get my computer to fit, I simply slit the stitches on the top end of the sleeve so I can slide the laptop into the pocket from the top. Not as secure, but I can still velcro the sleeve to keep it stable and protected by the cushions. It would have been better if the description indicated that the interior sleeve was designed for 13-in laptops. Nonetheless, the product is overall such good quality that I decided to keep it.

My 13 year old son loved this backpack. But, after 3 months of normal school use - no laptop, no overly heavy textbooks - the strap tore right off the pack. Now I have to try to get my money back.

Good bag for the money, no issues other than the Velcro on the inside of the bag tearing away from the fabric that is used for the laptop strap.

I loved everything about this bag except one thing. I loved all the pockets and all the padding to protect my gizmos. The front pocket fit my e-reader perfectly, the zippers were all easy to use, and my entire lunch bag fit inside the main compartment, which was great. I loved the slip pocket on the front. I don't intend to use it as a laptop bag, but I liked that I could if I wanted. I could even just fit my iPhone in the phone pocket on the strap. The only thing I didn't like was the strap was a little too wide-- it was bothering me after only a few minutes of wearing it around inside the house. So I have to send it back, but if you've got wider shoulders than me (which wouldn't be hard), then this bag is perfect. (Also, it arrived insanely fast. Like overnight fast. Thanks, Overstock!)

My son really wanted a sling-type backpack for the school year, and this has really fit his needs. He loves the look, says it's very confortable, and I like the variety of pockets. He hasn't used it for a laptop, but the compartment is nicely padded, and he likes having a divider in the main compartment for books/binders. He's pretty tough on things, and it's holding up well so far. No issues with zippers, and so on.

We bought this for our younger child to use as a school backpack. He wanted a sling style pack this year and we had a terrible time finding a quality one in the store. This is a great pack? It's made of a nice, sturdy materiall not the thin cheap stuff. The strap is solid, with a buckle adjustment, not velcro, which was all we could find in stores. As for size, it is obviously not as big as a full size backpack, which was great since we needed it for a second grader, but would fit the needs as a small laptop carrier, and still have room for a few folders and other school/office essentials. Though there is a slot on the front to hold some stuff, the main zipper does still run up the left side, so it is a side entry pack. I would definitely reccomend this bag!

My son prefers sling backpacks, and this is such a good quality, highly functional, and good looking backpack. My son is 11 years old and it fits him perfectly, and will for years to come. The zipper goes all the way from top to bottom, making it so easy to stuff his school books and papers in there. And there are multiple pockets to keep things separated, if he wanted. We have spent good money on backpacks, but this is our favorite and at half the cost.

I have been searching for a sling backpack for months, found this one and for the price I had to try it out. Glad I did, I will buy another one.

My son wanted this backpack for school. And although it's listed as a laptop carrier it's still great for a backpack for books as well. Great size for a middle school/high school aged child. My son is tall for his age but it was wonderful.

I am a larger chested woman. and have to have the strap extended all the way, so for a larger male. I dont believe it would be a great option. There are many pockets, including small velcro'ed ones inside. for cell and keys. I use this pack for walking with my dog, using the pocket on the strap for an I pod.

Needed a new light weight carrier for commuting with Laptop. The style is great,,love the outside strap pocket for easy access to cell phone.. Only thing I would change is the padding protection for laptop is thinner than I would like. So for someone like me who flings their bag around ....just need to be a little more careful. I also love how it fits to your back.

The product stated is for a laptop, but it's excellent if you don't carry one. Has plenty of room you can just carry about anything in. It doesn't heat up when you carry this bag because not too much of your back is against the pack (I expand the shoulder strap to max). The shoulder strap is very comfortable and can carry pack for a long time. Would suggest this bag to anyone.

Nice deep red color and great quality. My son loves the wide padded strap, he's a petite 12 year old and the backpack isn't overwhelming or too bulky for him to carry easily and even when packed with books he says it's comfortable to carry over his shoulder. Plenty of storage for pens/phone and smaller items and nice mesh pocket on the side for a good size water bottle. Great for school, work or even sports - not just for laptops.

this bag can be use for many. Recently took it to the beach i was able to pack everything in one bag, which usally take 2 or more to get everything in. I going on a trip an planned to use it as a piece of luggage but i will have everything i need in it and use as a carry on. So when I leave the plane it straight to the rent a car. This backpack is awesome

I just brought my 2nd bag and the 1st one was a comfortable travel accessory. It's quality is second to none, expectly for the price. I used the 1st one 7 days a week going to and from work, church, and medical appointments with my special needs kids. It held my netbook along with medical items, books, and other items. I found it really great on public transportation and was very easy on my back and shoulder. While at a medical appointment, I had grabbed and ripped part of the top sling. It was caught under my daughter's specialized wheel chair while at an appointment in a small room. However, it still held up for over 2 months until I brought a less quality bag that lasted just 3 weeks and carried less items. I then went back to the 1st bag until New Years (even with the tear). I looked else where for this back (local stores and online) and found just one for over $**. I've been using a normal back back for the last few days and I was so happy to see Overstock had restocked this model bag. I highly recommend this sling back. You can't go wrong with it!
