2 CalPak rolling backpacks
I have purchased two of these backpacks and after 20-30 days of use both of them had holes on the bottom. The seams were falling apart. I have purchased additional warranty as well. When I called Overstock.com I was told, that they will reimburse me for shipping, warranty and the merchandise. Since I was happy with that response, I went and purchased new backpacks from Overstock.com. (More expensive ones too)..... Finally, I received e-mail from them that they will credit my account.... So, I called them... AND, what a different story. NO REIMBURSEMENT ON THE SHIPPING AND NO REIMBURSEMENT ON WARRANTY. I have recommended Overstock.com to so many friends, and they have purchased things from them as well. Now, I will have to tell them about my experience. THEY TELL YOU ONE THING, BUT DO ANOTHER THING.

great bag
I have been hauling this bag around for two weeks. It holds BIG textbooks, my laptop, doesn't tip and is really easy to roll. Definitely worth the money. Plus, during a heavy rain, my stuff didn't get wet. A+.

CalPak is cheap and CSR is nonexistent
I bought this ahead of time for this school year-August 2009...so it's been only been 2 months of actual use before the backpack fell apart. When I tried to locate CalPak's customer service online, their website was down, but I managed to find an email. When I finally got a reply with a number to call them, I was informed that I had to pay to ship it to California (I assumed this, and shipping from Florida would be around $20), BUT THEN......they had the audacity to tell me that I would have to include a check for $9.95 to "process the warranty". The whole reason I chose this was because it was supposed to be warranted for 5 years. I'll never waste money on CalPak again.

Great for Science books
Thanks to others who wrote a review on the product, this rolling backpack is awesome. My science books are heavy and this easily fits all text books and lab manuals as well as folders. I was able to sqeeze in my laptop as well. The sturdy wheels are good on many types of terrain even when there is debris on the sidewalk.

Just what we wanted
Weve been looking for a rolling backpack that wasn't for "little" kids. This one fits the bill perfectly. The handle is easy to raise and lower, it has enough pockets for all schoolbooks, phone, art supplies. We've been using it about a month and have no complaints, about anything. The construction has held up well to rain and being owned by a rough and tumble boy. I will buy this brand again.

Misleading advertising
Do not buy this product if your laptop is 16 inches or bigger, it will not fit, as is advertised.
- How accurate was the sizing? Not even close, a 16 inch laptop will not fit in the padded pocket as adverstised, then after mentioning this to the seller and asked for a full refund, they ignored my request and deducted the shipping charge from my refund.

CalPak Element 18-in Rolling Laptop Backpack
I brought this backpack for my 9 y/o son. The backpack was very sturdy, and was able to store a lot of his books. When he turned 10, we put away the backpack as he want something w/o wheels. The new back pack only lasted 4 months before the strap broke, so now he goes back to using his Rolling Backpack. It may not look as 'cool' as a strap backpack, but it is a lot more durable and cause less backpain. Would recommend this.

Purchase it depend how do you like it.
My 12 year old daughter loves this rolling backpack even though the backpack's quality is not durable enough to carry her school books. This is my second order because her first one's handle is broken.

Great For Rolling Heavy Textbooks
This school year my son began hauling a lot of heavy textbooks and it was time for a rolling backpack. Since I waited until after the back-to-school sales, I needed to go online. This one is working great. I read many reviews and complaints for other rolling backpacks complained about the handle or wheels breaking. There is no problem with this one. The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars was for the backpack shoulder strap, conversion design. If you want to use the shoulder straps instead of the wheels, you need to unzip the back (not pictured) and the flap has to be looped around the bottom covering the wheels. So, if you like to switch back and forth this feature will annoy you. I'm sure the designer thought it was more streamlined that way. Fortunately, we only use this one for school.
