Don't judge a book by it's cover!
from Philadelphia PA.,  Aug 26, 2009

Women purse... does NOT resemble photo at all! very small, no storage, no lining, has pleats along base in front that make it look like a purse of some kind inthe leather, look close at the image.Worst buy yet on Overstock, and I shop here quite often...

Leather shoulder bag with faulty hardware
from Chicago, IL,  May 4, 2008

I bought this bag because I thought the hardware looked sturdy enough to handle this big leather bag. The strap and how attaches is always the first thing to go on these messenger type bags. After one week one of the metal studs flew off the bag. Granted, there is more than one stud, but now I have to go to a leather repair joint and get new and now permanent hardware so this doesn't happen again. Hassle.

Falling apart
from Boston, MA,  Jan 29, 2008

I just received this bag today and when I took it out of the shipping bag I noticed that one of the metal buttons was missing. About an hour later I was looking at the bag and noticed another was missing that I didn't notice before. When I looked on the ground, the button was lying there. I haven't even used this bag and it is falling apart. I do like the look of the bag but overall it is not durable. My recommendation is - do not purchase. Too expensive to be falling apart right out of the bag!

Will fall apart
 from Nevada,  Jan 8, 2008

The leather is unfinished. The shoulder strap will likely tear or snap altogether with any usage. Simply put, this bag was not made to last. Run for the hills.. I almost forgot to tell you: The shade of "brown" that I ordered is significantly lighter than what is shown in the picture.

Very Nice
 from MS,  Dec 28, 2007

The briefcase has a very vintage feel. The leather is a great quality but probably needs to be sealed or conditioned to keep it in good shape. The briefcase is kind of a tight squeeze for fitting files into. The zip top closure makes the opening more narrow and the zipper is not removeable. The over the shoulder strap is the only option for carrying and the rings to hold the strap are located on the back of the bag making it a little off balance when carrying. Overall it isa nice bag that is very modern and stylish.

Amerileather Vintage Leather Messenger Bag
from Dallas, TX,  Aug 3, 2011

This messenger bag is a great replacement for my existing laptop bag. The gussets provide just enough room to fit my peripherals. It's stylish, and classic. The top-stitching adds a nice contract to the REAL, rich, black leather. I'm petite (5'2") so the adjustable strap is convenient. The only drawback, is that I can't figure out how to have the strap short enough for me, and still be able to use the gliding shoulder guard. I may have to take it to the cobbler to be cut off and restitched. It's a great purchase.

Exceeded expectations
from New York,  Apr 14, 2011

I got this back in dark brown. It was at least $100 less than other bags I was also interested in, so I decided to give it a shot. The bag is beautiful! The leather is high quality, the color is just right, and the handle is well-constructed.

High Quality Bag
from Columbus, OH,  Feb 10, 2011

Awesome bag! Front pleats don't even come up 3.5 inches and do not make the bag look like a purse. The leather is thick and durable. Bag has very old-fashion look is is very spacious (perfect size). Bag is actually better looking than I had expected and I would prefer it other other satchels (simple look, leather, old-fashion).

Amerileather Vintage Leather Messenger Bag
from Philadelphia, Pa,  Feb 4, 2011

I ordered the bag and I love it. The displayed picture has the bag looking shinier than is in person. In person the bag has a slight dull vintage look and I love it and so does my boyfriend. The bag has a rich look and looks like it costs a few hundred bucks instead of the $**** that I paid. I'm almost tempted to buy a second one for when this one gets old. I checked that I wouldn't recommend this product to a friend only because I want to be the only one in my circle rocking my bag.

What I Paid For
 Jan 18, 2011

A straightforward leather messenger bag, good size for a laptop/notebooks. Significantly wider on the bottom--that is, it tapers upwards. Didn't expect that, but have discovered that it helps the bag stand on its own, which is an added bonus. The attachments seem a little flimsy, but they seem like they should hold up for a while as long as I stop putting textbooks in this bag. Protip: buy a leather conditioner. It's well worth it to help preserve the leather, and does wonders for the feel.

What a great bag!!!
from Detroit, MI,  Jan 7, 2011

This bag for a woman is the perfect size. If used for business small folders or small computer (14.0 or less) will fit. If for everyday use to carry personal items it is stylish but does scratch easily. I believe it may be drum dyed because the scratch doesn't reveal white of the skin but just adds a worn look which gives it character in my opinion. Though the over flap is loose the zip closure offers security to the items enclosed. I may be ordering another color to add to my black one.

Love it!
 from Florida,  Nov 12, 2010

This is just what I was looking for. Using it for a day bag while exploring the sights in Rome, will hold my journal, camera. and other things needed for the day, while being stylish and love the way the strap connects to the backside so it lays flat against your body. I'm very tall and the strap is long enough to allow it to hang low enough on my hip to be comfy. Excellente! Beautiful color and the leather is just the right thickness, too!
