The main reason this item was ordered was because you could lock the tote bag. Guess what - you can't lock it. The lock is just for show. There is no way to lock the bag. I would have purchased something different that does lock, but too late now. Besides not locking, the bag is very nice and durable. I don't recommend this purchase unless you don't care about the lock.
I bought this to replace another bag I had been using to carry papers back and forth to work. The other bag was made out of a plastic-type material that began to split in each of the corners. I wanted something that looked professional and would stand the test of time so I looked for leather. I LOVE THIS BAG! It is solid and has nice detailing that makes it a serious, yet stylish accessory for business. I bought the cognac color which is quite a bit more red than it looked--but I love it! This is a good bag and you can't beat the price (I even looked at the same bag from the retailer--Overstock rocks)!
