I bought this as a birthday gift for a special friend. The wood grain is rich and real wood (a plus), and thought the lock and key give it a nice touch of character. I spent a lot of time looking at various cases, and I'd argue it is much nicer than some other higher priced cases on this and other websites. I had the glass top engraved and my engraver commented the glass quality was good. The locking mechanism is funky (vintage I suppose), but it does work. The recipient remarked 'wow' and that it was beautiful so I'd say it's a total score.

Best price on the internet was through Overstock. Wolff winders are good quality and QUIET winders. This model, the Viceroy, is very customizable for direction of rotation and the number of rotations needed. There is also a delay option so that it will not start winding right away if you want to let your watch wind down some first. This one can run on a plug that it comes with or D sized batteries. This one, with storage is quite a bit bigger than the non storage one, both higher and wider. Three spots on top for three more watches. To open the top you press the latch mechanism, then you can drop the front to get to the winding part. That's probably my only gripe with the winder is that part makes accessing the winder watch a little inconvenient. But it's not a big deal. Great winder for the price.

A deployment clasp is a good investment to extend the life of your watch band. It's important however to choose the correct size clasp. The product description for this item says that it fits any 20 mm band. This is not correct. A watch band is measured at the point that the band meets the watch. Most bands then taper from that point to (normally) 2 mm narrower at the point where the band meets the buckle. Example: a 20mm band tapers to 18mm at the buckle; a 22mm band tapers to 20mm at the buckle. The deployment clasp replaces the buckle. This clasp is 20mm wide and fits my 22mm band which tapers to 20mm at the buckle. Measure your band at the buckle. If yours measures 20mm, this clasp is for you. If not, choose another clasp of the appropriate size. The push button mechanism can also be a little stiff when you first use it. I found that working the button over and over makes it much easier to close the clasp which was close to impossible the first few times I tried.

The case and mechanism work well. Further, the unit can be put inside a safe that does not have external power, the reason to buy a battery powered unit.

The box looks really nice for the price, and for the most part you'll be happy. The real bonus is that it fits in most consumer sized safes which is why I bought it. Here are the few negatives I've found after owning it: The watch pads could be a little wider so that they hold firm in place. Right now some of mine are loose and some of them are fairly tight squeezed inthe the box. Since I keep this box vertical in my safe, half my watches flop onto the top case. The locking mechanism broke almost immediately, apropos of nothing. The box still closes, but doesn't 'click' into place or actually lock anymore. Otherwise, for the price you can't go too wrong, and it fits in 1.1 cubic foot Sentry style safes wihch was my main consideration and need for the watch box.

Nice box, but more than one problem. First and foremost is that while there are instructions on how to open it and those work, the right-side button doesn't slide at all. Only the left-side button will slide, and then the box can be opened, but not far enough for the lid to stand on it's own. One has to hold it open with one hand while using the other to get the watch in. This is a problem because watches won't sit right on the provided cushions. If one has a really large wrist, the problem is compounded because the cushions aren't large enough to accommodate large bracelets. One of my watches refuses to stay in place as it continues to slide down the side of the pillow only to disappear between the pillow and the side of the case. That watch is smaller (than Invicta chronos) Tag Heuer, by far my most expensive piece. So pillows aren't large enough. Also annoying is that the key for the lock, which I accidentally discovered under one of the pillows simply does not fit the lock, and I tried about 100 times, with the key both upward and downward, since it's impossible to know which end is up. I can close the case, but the whole close-lock mechanism is seriously chintzy. I wish I'd gotten a different box.

The box is beautiful and functional. I look forward to filling it with my favorite watches. I only wish the locking mechanism for the top would lock the bottom part of the box also.

Not worthy of passing down as a family "keepsake/heirloom" but worth the price. Locking mechanism was fairly cheap (sort of like those grade school diaries) but for the price - it will definitely do the job!

I only gave this item a 4 (instead of 5) because the locking mechanism isn't the best. I love that large face watches fit perfectly in this. My husband largest watch has a face of 52 MM and it doesn't even touch the ones next to it. Great buy!

This deployment clasp looked beautiful and the finish was as expected. However the mechanical fit was poor and I have a hard time closing this clasp. You should not have to hold both sections closed as you press the release button, in order to secure this clasp closed. My brother purchased the same clasp a week later and had the same problem.

The noise from the winding mechanism can be loud, especially at night. But good value for money. It's functional as well as beautiful to look at.

A nice simple black faux leather watch case that holds twenty watches. Each slot comes with a cushioned insert to wrap watch around for added protection. Very nice. A secure locking mechanism offers the buy a secondary means of protection with glass display.

This is the second clasp I have purchased. The gold finish is good, the mechanism is average. The price is fair for this item, but no bargain. Better quality clasps can be found at near the same price elsewhere. It is just convenient for me to order through Overstock.

The watch winder is very nice. The faux woods veneer mimics the interior of a very high-end car. However, the locking mechanism does not work and the winder is somewhat loud. Considering some winders price in the thousands, this was a good buy. The jewelry store where my husband purchases his watches had a very similar winder for *** and it was NOT solid wood. I cannot comment of the long-term quality of this product because he has had it less than one week. Lastly, Overstock dropped the ball and did not deliver the correct winder before Christmas. This winder was my second option and was delivered after Christmas.

This is the most beautiful watch winding and storage box I've seen--and I did my homework in looking for this Christmas gift for my husband. It is heavy; the hardware is all sturdy and solid; the mechanism that turns the watches is silent; the whole thing is just lovely. I highly recommend it.

I had been looking for a box for my assortment of watches for a while now. I never wanted to spend as much as a watch on it though until this one came along and I broke down and ordered it. It arrived well packaged and with good finishing touches; the opening mechanism was well protected and the drawers had the silicone pouches to prevent humidity. To my surprise, stainless, gold, silicone, leather and ceramic bands fit nicely around each filler. Once full, the case looks even better and it becomes much more pleasant to look at. Now, I can quickly decide which watch to wear and I made it a habit to take it off every evening putting back in the box. A nice routine.

The kit had NO instructions on how to use each item. The kit had everything in it one would need to repair a watch, but if you are not mechanically inclined, you would need instructions, which were not included.

This was my third purchase of this winder. I have a passion for automatic watches and these winders have been great. I am able to rotate the watches and these winders have been very dependable. I like the ability to change the direction of rotation. Great value compared to some of the fancier and more expensive winders in wooden cases. The mechanism is the same and the watches keep running.

I needed a nice watch box since I have 4-5 of nice watches. I wanted a nice MANLY watch box that has amazing build quality and I could show it off. I decided to go with this box because of the Carbon Fiber design and it's sleek black look and clear glass. Basically I wanted to show off my watches at the same time show off the watch box as well. If I could afford $300 watches, I can afford a ~$75 watch box. When I first got it, my jaw DROPPED!! It was 1000x more impressive in person then what I saw in the pictures. The carbon fiber pattern is PERFECTLY stitched and the hemms are nicely tucked. The glass is crystal clear. The actual watch pads are BEAUTIFULLY stitched and made from soft suede. The foam padding inside the watch pads are supportive yet soft. The pads are also double stitched with silver threads so it looks really clean... and MASCULINE!! The different compartments are NICELY spaced apart. My largest watch is 57mm and there is still room to spare! Since my watch collection is growing very rapidly, I'm eventually going to have to upgrade to a bigger box. I will MOST DEFINITELY purchase the larger box (same style, just has a drawer underneath for another 10 watches). The only thing I could say about the box is the lock mechanism in the front. The two "buttons" on the side to open the door is a little difficult to squeeze if you have big fingers (like me) but you gest used to it. thank you overstock for having the best price!!!!
