The Timex Ironman Heart Rate Monitor is not fancy, but basic is what I wanted for the gym. The watch portion seems to be well built, though I wonder if the plastic strap will get brittle over time. The controls are not necessarily intuitive, but are easy if you read the instruction book. When i am not using it as a monitor, it is nice to have a watch at the gym that I am not worrying about damaging. The latching and unlatching mechanism of the chest band is also not intuitive, but is easy once you figure out the system. Once it is on, it quickly picks up my heart rate and displays clearly on the wrist band. I am not sure I would use some of the functions on a more complex heart rate monitor, so for my purposes, this product is perfect.

The watch must have the strap for heart rate. Works great and lost over 30 pounds by staying in my heart rate Zone. No complaints for the price.

Very sturdy watch and heart monitor...both are easy to size and fit comfortably while working out. The strap makes a quiet beeping noise whenever it is on your chest, which can be a little annoying at times, but I rarely notice it. My only complaint is that the watch doesn't have a stopwatch or timer function, which would be helpful for some exercises. Overall, however, excellent product.

Seems to work fine for an inexpensive HRM. Overstock.com price is hard to beat. One of the parts of the LCD display doesn't work a year or so later, but I can tell what number it is displaying. The chest strap/transmitter setup is comfortable. I ride a bike and mounted the display on the handlebar with an adapter from my old HRM. The old HRM broke when I used it alongside a new-style bright light for night riding (about 1200 lumens), and this doesn't seem to affect the Timex. I'm guessing that's because the Timex is an analog model. The transmitter doesn't transmit very far, if I'm off my bike a few feet, the signal is lost. I don't know if that is battery strength or design.

Great easy to use monitor. If you want a simple, no frills, no overload information monitor, get this one. All the others I have tried are just too complicated and difficult to use. Only has a couple of bottons and even has a light. This is the second one I've owned(Lost the first one) and would not buy any other kind.
